[Class of '66 Old Fart]

In our first game today, we beat IU Indy 14-0 as Reyes pitched a no-hitter and only walked 2.  Women had 12 hits -- Cooper had 3; Mitchell, Minnick  & Parker each with 2.  Parker and Mitchel both had 4 RBIs.

Game with Bowling Green is in the bottom of the 3rd and we hold a 2-0 lead.  Copeland on the mound and has held BG hitless through 3 innings.  We only have 1 hit but it was a 2-run HR from Minnick.

In the Bowling Green game, through 3 innings, Copeland faced 10 batters and struck out 9 of them!!

Women take today's second game 11-3 on just 8 hits.  Minnick had a 2-run blast in the 1st and Parker a grand slam in the 3rd.  Parker was 3-4 in the game with 6 RBI.  BG helped us out putting 7 IU runners on base via BB.  Copeland went 4 innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 2 BB.  Berry pitched 3 innings of 2-hit ball.

Hoosiers defeat Western Michigan 11-3 as Berry and Hess scatter 7 hits and walk just 1. We had 16 hits as Minnick and VanBrandt each 3 and 4 women with 2 each.  Minnick 3 RBI and Copeland and VanBrandt each 2.

Hoosiers get a 12-3 win over Bowling Green in 5 innings pounding out 13 hits.  4 women with 2 hits each and 4 with 2 RBI each.  Reyes pitched all 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 BB.  

Sunday, March 9:
UIC vs. Western Michigan (10 AM)
Indiana vs. UIC (12 PM)
IU Indy vs. Western Michigan (2 PM)

Women win all 5 games in the Hoosier Classic wrapping it up today with an 8-0 5-inning win over UIC.  Copeland went the distance with a 1-hit shutout; walked just 1 batter.  We had 11 hits led by Wilkison with 3 and Parker and Cooper 2 each.  

We're now on a 5-game winning streak and host Butler Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 and host Southern Indiana on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00.  Next weekend, Iowa will be in Bloomington for single games on Saturday and on Sunday,.

Copeland pitches a 5-hit 2 BB shutout and Hoosiers win 13-0 in a run-shortened 5-inning game.   Women had 11 hits; 4 different players with 2 each.  Parker and VanBrandt each 3 RBI and Burko and Kettlemen 2 each.  

Southern Indiana in Bloomington tomorrow afternoon at 4:00.

Hoosiers win 6-5.

We let 4-13 Southern Indiana hang around far too long.  USI held a 5-2 lead into our 6th and a Minnick grand slam gave us our first lead of the day.  We had 9 hits with 4 Hoosiers getting 2 each.  Minnick's 4 RBI from her grand slam was the big difference.

Berry opened on the mound but only pitched a single inning giving up 4 hits and 2 runs.  Reyes relieved and was pulled in the 6th for Copeland after giving up 4 more hits and 3 more runs.   Copeland set them down in order in the 7th and it was game over.

Iowa in town for single games on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend.

Women (19-5) will try to extend their 7-game winning streak and their 5-0 home record with a weekend sweep of Iowa (16-8) to open their B1G season.  Both games televised on B1G+.

Today's scheduled game was suspended in the 2nd inning due to weather and I've not seen any further updates.  At that time Hoosiers were batting in the bottom of the 2nd and already trailing 5-0 as Copeland had given up 6 hits and 2 BB - a double and 2-HR and charged with all 5 Iowa runs.

Iowa goes home with the 2-game sweep of our Hoosiers winning 6-5 today.   We had our chances but left 11 runners on base.  We'll be in South Bend Tuesday evening to face Notre Dame.  Next weekend we host Penn State for 3 games.

Women scored a run in the top of the 7th on a Parker HR to break a 2-2 tie and made it hold up in the ND 7th.  Final score 3-2.  We host Penn State this weekend.
