Kaminski leaves MSU?

Recommended Posts

Maybe a concern with academic problems again?

On two separate occasions last season, Kaminski was suspended by Izzo for “failing to take care of business” academically, with the second suspension being levied on December 14. Kaminski missed a total of six games last season for disciplinary reasons.

With Kaminski no longer in the picture, senior Branden Dawson and junior Matt Costello are Michigan State’s most experienced front court players. The Spartans add Marvin Clark, a 6-foot-7 forward who will now (in theory) have more opportunities to step forward and earn immediate playing time.  Dawson (11.2 ppg, 8.3 rpg) and guards Denzel Valentine and Travis Trice are Michigan State’s top three returnees in 2014-15.

Amazing how people can screw up such golden opportunities. I remember when IU was really high on him and I was disappointed when he chose MSU.  Kaminski could/can really shoot it . I like Clark and his story a lot , but I think he'll struggle this year in league play.

Would be interesting to see if Clark will be able to get some playing time and not ride the bench for academic reasons like Kaminsky did. I'm assuming since Clark's background is a bit unorthodox, his prior schooling may make it difficult for him to adjust to the academic standards. Here's to hoping he overcomes that, and his playing time is determined by basketball skill alone and not failing classes. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners
