The quote about the type of player they want is very telling of the chemistry problems they had last year. "Underground" recruiting is a funny thought. Very true though, April, Hoetzel, Priller are proof of the underground recruiting. Crean is turning over every pile of poo in search of the next great talent. Very odd recruiting year to say the least.

Right, he was clearly not happy with player maturity and attitude from last year.  Just from listening to the interview, I could tell that Hanner was one of those guys that he expects more from.  He is not happy with his work ethic and maturity.  He commented on bad decision making on and off the court a couple times. 

 

Jeremy, IMO, clearly was a bad influence on this team last year and likely his freshman year too.  He was sulking, unhappy on the court, you can imagine what he was like off the court.  Hopefully the chemistry thing is fixed.  Crean commented on how he wants the older players to take in the freshman and mentor them.  Said last year's team lacked leadership and it especially hurt that Sheehey and Yogi were gone for the summer.

 

He expects a lot from Rojo and Blackmon, shooting wise!

Most believe the 2 scholarship thing involves his comments on Jurkin. He said Jurkin had surgery this summer and he is not sure if Jurkin will ever be ready to contribute.  I think that means, if they find the RIGHT guy, they have 2 scholarships available.  I believe that is why he says we may or may not fill it.  Based on that quote, I'd be surprised if we don't get 1 more player then.  "underground" recruiting is in effect.  haha
