The 2015 Recruiting Class

Recommended Posts

Not closed off at all. It's great that Crean went out there and made those comments and had that impact. Could he become a Hoosier? Sure. Will he become a Hoosier? Based on what I've seen and Heard it isn't likely at all.

I'm not counting on it but maybe a shut door was opened this past weekend. As for the dating thing and the hair color, believe it or not that's worked for me. I never did like fake blonds...

Now that we focused on Zimmerman for most of the posts in the 2015 recruiting thread, I think there are other guys that we could get. As much as we'd like a center and for that center to be Zimmerman, I just don't see it happening. We have a much better shot at other guys. Even though the others wouldn't necessarily be the position we need or the caliber of Zimmerman, we shouldn't have many scholarships open for this class anyway...

We need a strong 5 in this class IMO. Troy is the only player I realistically moving on to the NBA after next year.

I'm just trying to make sure fans know the door is cracked open at this point, and it's a small small crack lol

And I'm just the overly optimistic fan who wants to believe Crean and IU can pull these kinds of players. Do you agree that Zimmerman is the player who we need the most in 2015? If not, who?

You could read that quote as the comments made Indiana jump from #8 to #3 or whatever. She's just saying it had a positive impact on Stephen. [/quote]

I know it's putting a lot into one quote, but I don't see any other way to interpret this :

"Honestly the feedback that coach Crean gave Stephen this weekend from watching him kept him in the Elite 8," she said.

The whole sentence sums it up for me. Can I add while I'm already digging into a sentence that the fact she called it the Elite 8 drives me up the wall. Lol

I said this in a different thread, but at this point the reasoning for IU making the final 8 doesn't matter. It's time for Crean to put on the salesman hat and do his best to keep building the relationship and push for an OV.

Edit: Also, "Elite 8" is hilarious. That's just a mom-thing to say

Zimmerman would fill a huge void. Would be an incredible get for IU. You can tell how important he is considering Crean just flew to Sacramento for his game to sneak into his Top 8. The angle he appears to be playing on this recruitment is genius as well. Stephen seems like the type of kid that would really like being told the truth instead of just fluff.

If not Zimmerman, what other C's are we in the running for? Stone never seemed to be all that interested in us.

In 2015, the other big time center that Crean is recruiting is Daniel Giddens. 6'10 center out of Marietta, GA. He's ranked #31 overall in the 247Composite. Indiana has offered, though his Crystal Ball currently favors Ohio State. Not sure what his timeline is, either.

Crean's also going after a couple of 6'9" PF's in the 2015.. Raymond Spalding out of Louisville and Alex Illikainen from Minnesota.

But does it seems as though any of these guys are realistic gets for us right now? It appears we have nothing really going all that well for us with this class.

They've offered Doral Moore but I don't know how serious things are with him. I would think Giddens and Zimmerman are IU's best bet at landing an elite center in 2015. Plenty of other guys further down the ranks to go after if the top guys don't pan out.
