Rapid Reaction IU vs Iowa

Recommended Posts

I am going to keep this short and sweet, because I have to be to work in five hours.  Normally, it wouldn't bother me, but having 2 9pm games in the same week is killing me.  It sucks getting old.  That is of course you are the Indiana Hoosiers!!!  How about that game?  That was a beautiful display of just being aggressive.  We don't have the shooters.  We don't have the experience.  What we do have is a team full of athletes, that when they compete for 40 minutes are dangerous.  This is what I hoped and predicted we would be by February.  Unfortunately, I personally did not foresee losing to PSU and Northwestern at home in the same year we beat Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa.

I am going to combine the team and personal games for this one.  A couple of reasons.  I want to go to bed first and foremost.  I personally felt that as much of a complete team effort it was, it was equally impressive individually.  Never did I feel Will was out of control.  His shots came within the offense for the most part.  Even when he was forcing, it wasn't like they were terrible shots.  The kid came to play today and scored 30.  That was the best individual performance of the season for me.  He was downright dominant.  The other equally impressive thing I noticed was Yogi Ferrell's willingness to take the backseat on a night where his teammate was going off.  If tonight doesn't show how much Yogi Ferrell wants to win, I don't know what will.  Stanford Robinson was also very impressive with 17.  He can just get to the rim unlike any Freshman I have seen.  He can't hit a shot, but who needs to when nobody can stop you?  Evan Gordon also added 12 in this one.  What is funny about this game is we had 17 turnovers.  We got out rebounded.  Noah has 4 points and 5 boards.  Yogi has 8 points on 6 shots.  We win.  That was about as weird of a game as I can recall.

Well, we have some life in us.  This weekend will truly tell us how much.  This is the weirdest team in all major sports I have followed in my life.  I have never seen a team play up to its competition as much as this team.  That is about as true of a statement as anyone could say about us.  We get beat by 20+ at PU, and beat teams like Wisconsin, UM, and Iowa.  At this point, what the hell?  Bring on OSU!

Here is my Rapid Reaction..... This was the most angry I have ever been watching a game that IU wins.... Even when we were up I couldn't shake the thought of us blowing it....

Can't inbound the ball again (well we did but it was scary)

Stan had a great game.... but why does he dribble everytime he gets the ball down low, it seems he always losing it somehow when he does that...

Gordon, oh my, I flip-flopped on him so much last night.... he drove me crazy with some of his plays but ended up being maybe the spark we needed (although I say the 3 was lucky and he padded his stats by hitting FT at the end)

Speaking of Free Throws.... PRACTICE THEM.... I understand Stan is not a good shooter but his form is horrible, some coach needs to take the time in the gym to change his form... not like it can get worse for him... Yogi is a good shooter but split them all at the end... Will having the game of his life and he can't hit free throws at the end....

BUT WE WON!!!!!! And for that I am thankful, I am IU through and through..... Now please keep winning and rid me of my stress!!!!
