Would be a great get. I try not to get excited about recruits since some commit and decommit before actually signing.  There's a few I'd like to have though, and he seems like a really good one...

'27 recruits would likely report in January. While they could still be lost post-signing, the odds of a June/July recruit sticking are pretty good.

AI that sources On3, ESPN, and 247 says that the decommit rate is 15-20%.

Crazy to me these kids skip most of their senior year and enroll early.  but I guess it gives you a leg up in training and learning if you hope to see the field at all in your freshman year.

I guess social media just makes it feel like kids commit and then decommit more often than the decommit rate posted above.  That's actually lower than I would have thought...

They don't skip their SR season. A "27" graduate plays their SR football season in 2026.

I didn't mean their season I know when they play football...there's still a second half of senior year they are missing at SCHOOL and one last chance to be a high school kid.  Being a student athlete in college is a grind.  It's not for the faint of heart.  It may look glamorous but I've had a niece go through it and it was VERY tough.  She had alot of break downs, and there is a reason the athletes have sports psych at their disposal.  I understand the benefits of enrolling early from an athletic standpoint but there is also something to finishing out your senior year, going to prom, and generally just having that extra time at home to prepare to be a college student. These players are jumping into college classes and football without much break from hs football season.  Regardless they are still just 18-19yo kids and the first-year adjustments for athletes is pretty overwhelming.

I didn't enjoy going to the prom, I would venture to guess other don't, as well.

But, I think you could argue... it's easier to adjust to college life "NOT in season" to start, so these guys get a full semester (many take summer courses, as well) before they have to be "IN season" AND in classes.
