Before Minnesota we said the next 4 games would say a lot. Brass Cannon had a good post.

This is the beginning of a 4 game stretch where we are gonna learn a lot about our team.

0-4 possible a new topic getting created
1-3 disappointing but we can grow from it
2-2 kinda what we expected.
3-1 oh yeah we can make some noise
4-0 we’re back baby

I think PSU and Kentucky are winnable games. We have to have those.

While technically true this team is what it is.  I guess we’ll see if DeVries is with his salt. But then again he put this collection together and thought it was good enough.

Same team that handled KSU well. Overreacting and drawing season conclusions on 2 games is pointless. Team is what it is— but we don’t know what that is yet.

I'm generally with you that it's too early to say we are cooked, but KSU is not proving to be any better than Marquette at this point. Kentucky might not even be a Q1 NET game when we play them either. We need to at least beat PSU or all the worst case scenarios will seem more likely than not IMO. Time to show what we're made of.

I think we do. I did before the games were played.  Let’s see where he finishes with what he compiled.  Somewhere 30-70.  30 would indeed be better than 70.  Just not good enough regardless.

I find it incredibly easy to blame the guy who picked all the players and gets to tell them how to play.  I fully blame him.

This team is bad and our gimmicky offense is offensive.

Ultimately everything falls on the head coach. My larger point being that it can take more than 9 games to get things sorted with a brand new roster. He could be doing a good job and we might not see the payoff until January.

The roster is on him. Short staffed, crunched for time and no real impact players to bring with him besides his son, so it’s hard to quantify exactly how much behind the 8 ball we were. I think the roster is tournament caliber, but next year will have to be much better.

We’re 9 games in with a new roster and system, we’ve played very well — especially ball movement— in some games and horrible in others.
Yes KSU isn’t proving to be top tier so far but they’re pretty good and a Hell of a lot better than Minny, so judging us by the way we played against Minny in my opinion is just silly negative nancy stuff. We are no more defined by how poorly we played against Minny than by how well we played against KSU - we’re a team in progress that has experience and talent and knows how to play on both ends. We won’t compete this season for top of conf but we can be a tournament team.
Next season and going forward DeVries needs more athleticism to go with the shooting, but I’m confident we’ll get there fwiw.

If Minnesota was the only bad game this is true, but we have had more bad than good with Lindenwood and Prillers school (can’t even remember their name).  We haven’t really had good ball movement since maybe game 4.
