Haven't been able to find any consistent source for how her individual season is going, however, her team is 8-0.  Found a Dec. 9, game in which Westside defeated Mauldin 59-52.  MaxPreps lists her at 6'5" and 175 lbs.  Height is probably pretty accurate; weight might be a little on the light side.  She's not Audie Crooks but for the typical high school girls team she's big.  Her stat line on my card:  22p, 12r, 2a; 0s, 2b, 4t.  My usual disclaimer that I'm not qualified to evaluate talent but things just stick out to me when I watch our targets play.  Because she's so tall, she's never really learned she has to jump and when she did, there wasn't much bounce.  She invariably spun to her left to put up a shot at the basket and it always looked like she was going to fall backwards.  The same on her rebounding, tendency to not go straight up but at an angle.  When she gets to the college level, she'll need some serious work on conditioning.  She's ranked in the top 30 by all 3 major rating services so what do I know?

Can't teach 6'5'' though.

The sacrifices I make for btb!   :-D    Watched Hartwell and Westside (12-1) play Southside (0-13).  Southside did not score a single point in either the 2nd or 3rd Qs.  Final was 80-9 with the entire 2nd half played with a running clock thankfully.  Southside had a young lady who attempted a 3 and was fouled.  She did not hit the rim or backboard on any of her 3 attempts.  They had their version of Audie Crooks minus Crooks' physical abilities and who had to be at least 8" shorter than Hartwell who's listed at 6'5"  This poor girl tried to post up Hartwell multiple times and it didn't end well for her.  I'm not going to bother posting any game stats for Hartwell because they're meaningless for this game.

Westside (14-1) defeated Fountain Inn (10-8) 67-38 and Hartwell looked like a different player.  Probably one of the few games she's faced an opponent of similar height and physical size and she more than held her own.  MaxPreps says she's 6'5" and 175 lbs.  Her opponent was every bit as tall and outweighed Hartwell.  She demonstrated spin moves both to her right and her left as well as a couple of 10-12' jump shots.  Just don't throw her any low passes.  Today's game:  19p,  4r,  2a,  0s,  2s,  2t in 20 min. of play.  7-9 FG,  5-8 FT.

Back in December is when I watched her play for the first time and was pretty unimpressed.  Watched her a week ago and she was a different player.  Another game this weekend and again, she looked much better than the December game.  Her last 2 games she's been matched up with girls just as tall and in this weekend's game, she was outweighed by at least 20 lbs. and like the game a week ago, more than held her own.  Beginning to think the December game may have been a game where she played down to her competition.  Westside (15-1) defeated Dorman (12-4) 84-52.  On my scorecard  17p,  9r,  1a,  1s,  5b,  1t.  She drew 2 early 1st Q fouls on her counterpart and a third before the half and fouled out early in the 4th.
