It's so odd going to the recruiting player of a FB player with an IU offer and seeing multiple other P5 schools on there. Now there are multiple players like that, not just this guy. It's almost like CC realizes we need P5 talent to compete against P5 teams. What a crazy concept.

To be fair, most of IUFBs HCs in the past were able to first recruit P5, now P4, talent or at least gain interest from P4 talent at the beginning of their hire. It's the consistent winning part that hasn't happened since, like, ever.

Another factor that might be in play here is NIL. We were able to grab Cherry and I'm not sure how much NIL played a part in that but I would imagine it did.

It might just be me, but this feels different. It feels like we finally got a HC that knows what he's doing if that makes sense.

That Althoff program was one of the best in the state about a decade ago. Especially in the smaller classes. Took a nose dive at some point and is on the way back up, with a few nationally ranked kids on the roster. Surprisingly couldn't get past quarters in the smallest class in Illinois this season.
