2 things: 1) Ament laid that stat line on DeMatha. How the mighty have fallen. 2) The Hughes shootout games are apparently played in 10 minute running quarters. So the kid dropped 41/27 with a 40 min running clock. That is nuts.

Don’t know if the DMV event played the same 10 min. running clock or not.

Physically he's got some work to do but he passes the eye test as a potential 1st round draft pick. Woodys going to check the hs recruiting box this year.

Travis Branham on Ament at the 3SSB All-American Camp.

Nate Ament, 2025, SF/PF -- Every time I have seen Nate Ament for the last 12 months, he has shown some area of improvement while still maintaining consistencies in his production and impact in other areas of his game. As he put a ribbon on his final summer, Ament was tremendous once again and what particularly stood out was the improvement in his ball-handling in his attack of the rim. On several occasions on Saturday, Ament created and scored off the bounce, weaving through defenders and finishing strong. His frame is also scratching the surface and he looks like he is just now starting to put on a little bit of weight. Meanwhile, when Ament was cut-off from driving he had no issues shooting over the top from three and from mid-range. As we have said on here many of times, Ament looked like he wasn't done rising in the rankings once again.

Eric Bossi from the Under Armour Elite 24 event -

Nate Ament - Currently ranked No. 7 nationally in the class of 2025, Ament took a redeye from the West Coast to make his way to Brooklyn and immediately made his presence felt. Having grown to every bit of 6-foot-9, he showed off his ability to shoot from deep, handle the ball and fluid movement early in the scrimmage. He faded a little as the scrimmage went on, but his wow moments were the type that most in the gym would have a hard time replicating. He'll maybe play some faceup four in college but long term he's looking like a jumbo wing who as good as he is, may just be scratching at the surface. He's got an official visit locked into Kentucky for the end of the month and Virginia will get one in mid-September. He's got a ton of other heavy hitters involved and he'll be locking in more visits but don't be surprised if he takes his time with things.

Bossi on last night's event.

Entering the game as the highest ranked player at No. 7 in the class of 2025, Nate Ament did nothing to hurt his status as one of the best in the class and he was clearly the best long term prospect in the game. Every bit of 6-foot-9 he's a smooth shot maker, moves effortlessly around the floor and as good as he's gotten over the past year, he is still just showing hints of his vast potential. He's got all the tools to play the game for a long time at the highest level if he continues on this path. He buried a trio of three-pointers and led his team with 16 points.

Cassidy on the Under Armour event.

No prospect at the event has a bigger upside than the 6-foot-9 Ament, who spent the summer turning potential into high-level production. The five-star left his mark on the week that was from beginning to end, showcasing his ball-handling ability and reliable long-range shooting in Friday’s scrimmage.

Saturday’s game saw the long, skilled forward knock down a deep 3-pointer, show off a mid-range fadeaway. He wasn't particularly efficient on game night, shooting just 5-for-13 from the floor, but his potential flashed in spurts all weekend.

Ament has fully evolved into the “any dumba$$ sees it” category. Even if he doesn’t gain an ounce he’s probably Brandon Ingram and there’s a range of outcome here where he’s Paul George. If he’s legit interested you throw the whole deal at that kid.

I wasn't super high on Ament when I saw him play but that was over a year ago. I'm a changed man now. Too many people with an educated eye think he's a year one high contributor. Your Paul George comparison made me think of Brandon Miller and I see a lot of that.

I may he wrong but he may play the market until the spring. He'll likely continue to climb the rankings. After Dybansta, Boozer and Peterson commit, he's in the driver's seat. Maybe Woody strikes again.
