Indiana women's basketball alum Nicole Cardaño-Hillary will return to her home country as she has signed a professional contract with IDK Euskotren in Donstia-San Sebastian, Spain.

Cardaño-Hillary closed out her two-year Indiana career in 2021-22 as she helped the Hoosiers to a pair of 20-win seasons and two NCAA Tournament appearances. She was an All-Big Ten second team, All-Big Ten defensive team and earned Big Ten All-Tournament team honors in her final season.

She started in 32 games last year averaging 11.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and a team-high 2.3 steals per game. Her 72 steals in 2021-22 for IU ranks ninth all-time and was second in the Big Ten. Additionally, Cardaño-Hillary notched double figures and had multiple steals in 21 games.

In her career, the Madrid, Spain native scored 2,343 points and hit 232 career 3-pointers. She averaged 72.7 percent at the free throw line and picked up 319 steals. Through her five-year collegiate career, Cardaño-Hillary averaged 15.6 points and shot 36.5 percent from the floor.

She enjoyed a decorated career at George Mason where she was the program's all-time leading scorer, 2018-19 A-10 Player of the Year, 2017-18 A-10 Rookie of the Year and a three-time A-10 selection.

She joins fellow alum Aleksa Gulbe in signing a professional contract this offseason, as Gulbe will play for Perfumerías Avendia in Salamanca, Spain.

N. C-H was a barrel of fun to watch and congratulations to her.  What a great example of IU Ladies basketball program.  Plus, IU player/s getting post grad professional contracts as IU Ladies basketball program continues to develop upward.

Scalia 5’10” some size will learn to play defense and comes in with advanced scoring game.
