Agreed You can’t define Patriotism as any other action. You can’t say it’s standing during the anthem considering the anthem didn’t even exist for quite some time during our history.  Not a single US soldier who died in any war prior to 1931 would be a patriot if standing during the anthem is a requirement.  
 

Which makes you less of a patriot exercising freedom of speech to kneel during the anthem or exercising your free speech to insult, belittle and cheer against people representing your country?   Stephen Decatur a great American hero would probably say those people cheering against the us athletes and celebrating their loss are in the wrong.
