The No. 23-ranked Indiana Hoosiers (2-1-0), coming off an extended break from the pitch, will travel north to Madison to take on the Wisconsin Badgers (0-4-0) at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday afternoon.

SETTING THE SCENE
• After scoring three tallies in each of the first two matches of the season, Indiana was held scoreless in a 1-0 result against Northwestern on Feb. 27. NU scored in the 87th-minute of the match to claim the victory. The loss marked the first time in which the Hoosiers fell to the Wildcats since Oct. 25, 2009.
• Indiana was held without a goal against a Big Ten opponent for only the second time since the start of the 2018 season. Over the last three seasons (19 games), the Hoosiers average 2.0 goals per contest in league matches.
• The Hoosiers will be back on the pitch for the first time in 12 days. IU was scheduled to host Penn State on March 7, but the match was postponed due to positive COVID-19 results among Penn State's Tier 1 personnel.
 
NEWS AND NOTES 
• Despite not playing a match last week, Indiana dipped to No. 23 in the second addition of the spring United Soccer Coaches Top-25 rankings. The Hoosiers are one of two Big Ten Conference teams ranked inside the top-25, joining Michigan (No. 6). Northwestern, Ohio State, and Penn State all received votes in the latest poll.
• Indiana remains steady at No. 13 in the most updated Top Drawer Soccer Top-25 rankings.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• For just the second time in the last 39 Big Ten regular season matches, Indiana suffered a conference loss. The Hoosiers were blanked in a 1-0 decision against the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston, Ill. back on Feb. 27.
• The Wildcats found the late winner in the 87th-minute of play when a dangerous cross found the foot of sophomore forward Ugo Achara Jr., who was able to slide the ball through the Indiana defense and into the back of the net. 
• The goal was the first goal allowed by sophomore keeper Roman Celentano this season. He opened the season with over 265 minutes (267:31) of shutout play.
 
SCOUTING THE BADGERS
• Wisconsin enters the Thursday matinee with a record of 0-4-0, including a 3-0 loss in the season opener against Indiana at Grand Park. Each of the last two Badger games have ended in 1-0 decisions in favor of the opposition.
• The Badgers have scored just two goals this season, both coming in a 5-2 loss to the Northwestern Wildcats. Junior forwards Andrew Akindele and Henri Tophoven each have one tally this season.
• Graduate senior keeper Sven Kleinhans has conceded 10 goals in four starts.
 
SERIES HISTORY
• The Hoosiers have historically controlled the matchup with the Badgers, winning 39 of the 53 contested matches. IU holds a record of 40-5-9 against UW and hold a 12-4-5 advantage in Wisconsin. 
• Indiana is undefeated in the last 10 matches 65-0-4) against Wisconsin. The last Badger win in the series came in a 4-3 win on Oct. 11, 2013 in Madison. 
• The Hoosiers knocked off UW (3-0) in the season-opening match between the two programs on Feb. 19. Sophomore striker Victor Bezerra scored a brace in the first 45 minutes of action, while senior forward Thomas Warr added the finishing touches on the shutout win with a second half goal.
 
LONG-STANDING SUCCESS IN THE LEAGUE
• In the program's last 39 Big Ten regular season matches Indiana holds a record of 28-2-9. During the four-and-a-half-year run, IU was unbeaten in the regular season during conference play from Oct. 16, 2015 until Oct. 18, 2019, a span lasting 1,464 days and 32 matches. 
• Indiana is the defending Big Ten regular season and tournament champions two years running. IU has combined to win 30 Big Ten Championships, 16 regular season titles and 14 tournament crowns.
• In 2018, the team posted a perfect 8-0 record. The eight wins in conference play marked the most ever by a Big Ten program. The season marked the first undefeated, untied season by a B1G since Penn State achieved a 6-0 record in 2005. IU accomplished the same feat (6-0) in 2002.

1-0 Hoosiers lead at the end of the first half.  The Bebej goal came off a corner kick from Glass.  Apparently earlier in the half, we had a goal waved off because of an offside penalty.
