Popular Post Feathery Posted April 1, 2018 Popular Post Posted April 1, 2018 I went and looked at the Villanova roster and they have 7 players that have redshirted. I thought that was extremely high. I’m not sure if it had to do with injury, transfers, or for player development. But whatever the reason, it’s working. 2nd championship game in 3 years. Recruiting wise they have 2 players that are 5* guys, the rest are 4 and 3*. The 5* kids are low 5*’s, Brunson was ranked 20 and Spellman was ranked 23 in their classes respectively. Zero one and done prospects. Kids that stay around and build something that lasts. Seems like a good model. HoosierAloha, Tom White, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and 10 others 13 Quote
Feathery Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 Also, no player is listed over 6’9” tall. They have 4 players that height. Quote

Hardwood83 Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 More than one way to skin that cat though- UNC and Gonazaga were big teams last year. Seemed like Carolina had 5 guys 6'10"+ a couple years ago too. I do agree about Nova though, I love the way they develop players. You take a 5* if it makes sense for your team any given year, but tough to build anything consistent with that model- just ask Cal. Even Dook underachieved with their 32 lottery picks this year. HoosierAloha Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Didn't Nova being a transfer or two as well? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

KB0 Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Two were forced to sit out (academics, transfer) and three had to sit out a year due to injury. WayneFleekHoosier, TXHoosierDaddy and Feathery 3 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 I read a story recently that said if Tom Jurich couldn't get Pitino to Louisville, his second choice was Hofstra's coach -- a fella named Jay Wright. Can you imagine the stinkhole Louisville would've avoided if he had just made that hire! ... That is, of course, presuming that Wright is relatively clean, which he seems to be. (I say "relatively" because you just don't know about anybody anymore. But unless I've missed something, I haven't seen Wright's name associated with any sleaziness).
