  1. For most of the year I thought Michigan was going to win it all. Then their best driver/backup PG got hurt so I hedged and have them not making doing it. Is the Big Ten just better and I overthought it?
  2. Vaaks over Feigan for me.
  3. PG is the key to me. Every team ahead of us I. The conference standings had a better PG. it’s a guards game. We need a rim protector though, just because it’s a guards game doesn’t mean we ignore size and physicality at all positions.
  4. IU if next year doesn’t go well. But if Dusty May goes to the NBA this year, which is a possibility, then Schwartz to Michigan. edit: I’ll guess Byington will be the next coach at UNC, and do very well.
  5. Agree with you. Honestly I’d take Josh Shertz over Ben McCollum. Not that Ben is a bad coach and can’t win. Just preference of style of play.
  6. Then IU spent over 21 mil in NIL. Iowa doesn’t have the money to do what IU football did. I mentioned elsewhere 1 booster had to come to the collectives rescue bc they couldn’t pay their football roster what was promised. Not the same.
  7. How about the Big Ten? Cmon Bruce Pearl, let’s hear about the SEC grind!
  8. Never said he didn’t. But the talent level is what it is. It won’t be better than this year. I’ve never said he isn’t a good coach or he doesn’t win. I just maintain it’s terrible basketball to watch and I wouldn’t want him coaching my favorite team. Other coaches can win big and play a better style. It’s not like McCollum will win a national title and nobody else ever will until he retires.
  9. No way UNC would take him. It would be blasphemy to play that slow in Chapel Hill. No coach has a monopoly on winning. So UNC will get someone that will play a style that fits their DNA.
  10. To me that’s the reality not coping. He won’t get more NIL. Iowa struggled to pay their football NIL last year. A large booster had to cover it all to keep things whole. He got a Stirtz discount bc he had him since his freshman year at multiple universities. They will be solid but this team will be about as good as it gets. Good for them.
  11. Go Nebraska next round vs Iowa. Rivalry game that should be a close game once again.
  12. Ben McCollum didn’t want to come here. Iowa was always his top choice. So it’s not even a debate to have.
  13. I actually like DeVries and don’t want him to leave. I may change my mind if things don’t go well next year. But I’ve seen enough to be cautiously optimistic.
  14. Big Ten was stacked this year for sure. Just like football, once everyone can pay the Big Ten has the ability to become dominant again. May not win it all again but the depth is there.
  15. Here we go. Iowa buzzer beater coming.
  16. It’s like early Bo Ryan before he started getting players. If you don’t jump on them early and make them speed up their play it’s a slog all game.
  17. Doubt he ever leaves ISU. It’s both his and his wife’s Alma mater. It’s home. He can win it all there too.
  18. Byington would be a great hire for UNC imo. He is a legit good coach and would have UNC back competing with Duke.
  19. Me too. lol. reading some other big ten chats and the consensus is Iowa is terrible to watch and run terrible stuff. lol. Hell, even Iowa fans were complaining by the end of the year. lol.
  20. SEC overrated? It was down to Duke or Arizona for me to win it all.
  21. 100%. Tucker was way over valued and it hurt our team from a NIL perspective. 2.5-3 mil for Tucker and he is more of a 1.25 mil guy. Could have been the difference in landing a legit 7 footer or legit PG.
  22. If Iowa hangs on here, how many brackets get busted?
  23. It’s similar to Bennet ball at Virginia. I’d rather never go to the tournament than have that be the style we watch game in and game out. It’s makes my eyes bleed and I’d rather watch paint dry.
  24. I also had Virginia. My bracket looks decent so far. I had BYU and Virginia in the Sweet 16 but I got the other 10 right so far.
  25. He didn’t touch it. Terrible call.
