If we spend 4+ on Sherrill, then we have more than 12-14 mil imo. Or we are getting good prices for some wings. Damn now I’m hungry, sitting on a plane waiting to take off and I said wings, I could go for some hermanaki wings from Ale Emporium. lol.

Screw those guys. Support the program or find a new one. It’s fine to critique but anyone who thinks woody was the answer or needed time has an agenda. We had half the roster last season compared to what woody had his final year and had equal results. Let that sink in. Get DeVries a Big Ten caliber roster and we will be cooking with gas.

The baseline level of skill/athleticism is definitely higher this time around. If you’re expecting a final four caliber roster then you’ll definitely be disappointed. If you’re happy with making the dance next year you should be encouraged.

To me this is NBA or LSU. Wade will splash some cash for sure and he is from the area.

I believe it was like 3.5-4. They are finding that schools are looking at high 2’s almost 3m for him. So the price has came down a bit. All board chatter. I think it came from Trilly but don’t quote me.

This would also bump up the rev share per player on the team. I’d be totally fine with that if the coaches are comfortable playing the freshmen, Acimovic, and Sisley as the bench players. 5 starters and the young guys off the bench. Risky but worth taking?

Another board said they saw the Duke 24/7 site saying Sherrill is being pitched as someone coming off the bench for them. lol. To me that’s just arrogance.

I think the $12 mil was put out on purpose. Doesn’t mean it needs to stay there but I don’t think it goes above that from day 1. It’s here work with this and we will work on getting more funds if we get into a bidding war.

I’ve got the grill, let’s start bbqing. I just don’t have high expectations for next year. Just make the dance. Get a roster that can do that. I think the coaching is there. That will at least get some positive momentum going. The 3 I coming freshmen will be good down the line, maybe PAM can contribute as a freshmen. The other 2 need a year of strength and conditioning. So have a decent year and make the dance, and enter next years portal in a much better position to then say on let’s build for a run. Also like to have room on the roster to add 3 more freshmen this fall for the 27’ class.

That 12 -14 mil needs to include Sisley, Acimovic and the 3 incoming freeman as well. So it’s 9 players for 2-4 mil. It’s why a lot of us were saying weeks ago we need more nil funds. An assistant of another school told Rabby last weekend that if you need 5 players in the portal you better have $18 mil of you want to make a run in March. I think k we are going with a budget to make the tournament and build through high school.

I am interested to see the after action when the roster is set to determine what Carr and DeVries are now prioritizing in their evaluations.

So 3 players for $10 mil and then 9 players for 2-4 mil depending on the rumors? We can’t spend 5 mil on anyone, unless uncle Mark decides to write a check to help pay for it. Thats up to Dolson to go make that happen.

I’d take Allenspach for sure. We need 2 centers unless Acimovic can play as a redshirt freshmen.

I’m all on board on getting 3 impact guys and then moneyball the rest of the roster. But I’m wondering if we should make those 4 impact guys a PG and then 2 wings. Then moneyball the bigs. Focus on traits like defense, rebounding, toughness for the bigs. Forgo looking at a big to be a low post scoring presence. Too many holes to fill this year. So just need to build a tourney team. Id even take the big from Iowa that hit the game winner vs Neb in the dance. He just entered the portal. That caliber of player with 3 stud guard/wings.

They did it but if he gets hurt and they don’t win enough next year it won’t matter. They are the national champs so they get to take risks that this staff can’t afford to take. Estrella getting hurt here means missing the tournament and coaches may get fired over it. That’s not happening at Michigan. It happens there it’s all well, tough break with the injury. They are in the glow of a national title.

We did the zoom. That isn’t that big of a waste. Duke is doing an in person this weekend and their people are going to sell him on a role to come off the bench. That would be a waste of time imo.

James Franklin 2.0. For those that don’t know, James Franklin when he took the PSU job said he wouldn’t hire an assistant that didn’t have an attractive wife. Because a man with a hot wife can recruit.

Why overpay for a big that missed a year with a foot injury and then the following year missed more games? To overpay and spend 1/4 of the NIL funds on an injury prone big is super risky. And foot injuries for bigs is something that can be career lingering. Before he chose Michigan I said I would be cautious of paying so much for Estrella. I think it would be better spent elsewhere. Good player, but not worth the risk. Imagine paying him 3.5-4 mil, 1/3 of our nil budget, and then he has a foot issue and misses half the season. We would be screwed.

Good. Fine player but injury prone. We are also targeting a PG that is coming off an injury and I’d rather not press our luck too much on that category.

UK rumor that we bid the highest for Ace Glass. Seems to be name we need to pay more attention to if true.

This could be a blessing in disguise. I don’t know how much PT is available for a big at Michigan but to sink 3+ million into a big that can’t stay healthy with foot problems seems like an unnecessary risk for an IU program that needs to ensure it makes the tournament next year. Michigan can absorb a letdown season if a key guy goes down. IU cannot because the fanbase will be absolutely toxic if we miss the tournament for any reason next year.
