  1. I said weeks ago he plays like the old guy at the YMCA.
  2. I wonder what Ryan Carr is thinking as he started self scouting this team to make his portal plans. Helps build a NBA finals level roster and walks into this. I’m a glass half full, positive guy and I’m sure he sees opportunity. But at some point he has to think what the hell am I watching. lol. Who built this ****? lol.
  3. 2.5-3 for Tucker is double or more what he is worth.
  4. It’s why I haven’t given up on DeVries. I think his stuff can work. It’s just a bad roster. He has hired a GM. So let’s see what the NBA guy can do.
  5. Wide open shots. High major roster compared to one that is basically a top end mid major roster.
  6. Because I have zero hope for this team. What’s the priority in the portal for you? I think it’s length and athleticism across the board. Need an elite PG and a true Center. I don’t care if the center can shoot it from deep. Not many teams can play 5 out. But need to be able to play close to the basket and protect the rim. Overall size of the roster I want to see be taller and longer. Then also another SG who can score at an elite level.
  7. Good lord. Why shoot that deep when they are down a defender and early in the clock? Just dumb play.
  8. Have you noticed if the shot isn’t in the corner Dorn doesn’t have a chance of making it. He can only shoot at one spot on the court.
  9. Lack of inside game. If Alexis gets going that could change the droughts.
  10. Why is Wilkerson passing that anyway? He did something similar at the end of the NW game.
  11. If Enright and Dorn are on the floor together it creates a lot of problems. To me they need to play their best defensive lineup along with Tucker and Lamar.
  12. Agreed. Sadly the change is going to expose another mismatch. Roster is filled with too many holes.
  13. The length of MSU compared to our roster is evident. Hopefully Carr is taking notice as he plans for building a roster for next year.
  14. I thought the GM was always the plan and have been disappointed that one wasn’t hired months ago. Happy there finally is one hired and now he has a job. I do like how the Pacers are built with long athletic players that can compete. We shall see how it translates.
  15. This has been much more tolerable to me than the Woodson and Archie years. I can actually see shooters again. Team is terribly flawed and he will get this offseason to right the ship. Let’s hope that he does. I don’t think he should be fired now and think he gets 3 years. Would feel a lot better if we win 3 more games but I don’t know if we win again.
  16. Going to be an interesting offseason. All the talk about football school is a joke or a lot of fans. Because a lot of fans aren’t alumni and have other teams they root for. Just win.
  17. Then we go get players that are good enough from schools that don’t have the money. Kansas and UConn are playing. Teams like Wisconsin, Houston, Purdue, etc aren’t paying what IU has available. I do cut the staff some slack this season because it’s was an entirely new roster. Next year there will be some carryover plus freshmen. So less holes to fill but a bulk of the money available. Let’s see what they do. I’m excited about the new hire to help the roster building as well.
  18. That could have been me just with a typo. I didn’t copy and last it all.
  19. This is where ChatGPT is my friend. lol. Here is a list of names who were getting minutes and saw their production and minutes drop their freshmen year. Aaron Henry at MSU, Jermaine Samuels at Nova, Devon Dotson at Kansas, Jordan Goldwire at Duke, Tremont Waters at LSU. More recently Kel’el Ware at Oregon, Tre Morgan at Marquette, Ahmad Newell at UConn. then there is this gem lol That’s the classic freshman wall trajectory: early promise → struggle to maintain intensity or efficiency → reduced role → gradual adjustment
  20. Freshman wall. Happens all the time.
  21. I think both probably thought he would be better and didn’t realize the athletic/physicality of the big ten would be what it is. Dusty May said after last season the one thing he totally underestimated was how physical the conference is. So he adjusted and now is the favorite to win it all. Let’s hope DeVries adjusts after some lessons learned this year. In the meantime I expect to see IU called on selection Sunday and enjoy this team for what it is.
  22. I saw nowhere that we are close to 25 mil in basketball. Football yes. 10ish million is what I’ve seen bandied about for basketball. Saw someone on another board claiming we will be around 12.5 million for next year. I think DeVries is doing fine. He needs to make the tournament though. Building a team from scratch at a program that’s been dog piss for decades is not a recipe to have an elite program year 1. We now have some returners that are young and a recruiting class that appears to be solid for the long term. With the bulk of our NIL funds available to go get 4-5 players for next year. It’s there to take a step forward next year. It’s all about roster construction bc I believe he knows how to coach. Latest rumor I saw “coming from trilly” is we are in for Duke guard Darren Harris. I’m interested to see if we land high major athletes with skills for next year. edit: I don’t think Tucker was a discount. I think he took market value and is set up financially. It’s his one year payday. Pure conjecture on my part but it think it’s part of our roster construction issue for this year. Wilkerson was was another 2.5 mil?
  23. Feed the Purdue crowd and players? The refs don’t give a flying eff. This isn’t 1987 with Bob Knight on the bench.
