  1. Uh, no way. I mean, I'm still amazed that Archie passed the interview. In theory, he might have passed the Xs and Os test from his time at Dayton - although he seemed to massively fail that at IU. But, I can give Glass a pass on that. What I can't give Glass a pass on is Archie's personality. He definitely didn't have the personality to run a big-time program. He should have seen that in the interview (and when doing the background check). I've done a ton of executive interviews in my life and I couldn't believe that Archie got hired in year 1. He just didn't seem like a guy who was comfortable in the job. That is on Glass. With that all being said, Woodson had zero college experience. Zero. Zilch. Nada. And he hadn't even been a head coach at ANY level for a number of years. And he was nearing retirement age. He had no business being hired. At all. He was a horrible hire for any number of reasons. It was so obvious from the beginning that he was going to be a failure. The fact that his team made it to the tournament twice is a reflection on just how good TJD really was on the college level.
  2. Dammit, RTZ. You're supposed to live in the Eastern time zone. LOL
  3. Bennett would seem like a really odd choice. He seemed really disenchanted with coaching near the end and basically just gave up on it. What kind of fire would he have left to start over? I wouldn't want Bennett at all...
  4. Right? Two things seem to happen every friggin' day: 1.) It's for sure not going to be Stevens at some point during the day. 2.) Some odd choice comes to the forefront. It's nearly 3:00.
  5. That's a total fever dream. Creepy AF. My kids are grown and had no idea that they did a live-action Clifford. Yikes...
  6. This. It's a DISCUSSION board. And an anonymous one at that. People have opinions. All kinds of opinions. That's exactly what makes this place interesting and sometimes fun. I mean, I've gone on record here numerous times saying that I'm not sure that Stevens is a home run hire, for a number of reasons. I'm sure that many people definitely think my opinion is stupid. So what? They can respond. Or move on. Or block me. Or whatever. It's a board for discussions. That's what it's for. I'll never understand why people get upset about people expressing different opinions here...
  7. And I'm here for it...
  8. This to me is the most suspicious thing that might lean towards the possibility of Stevens. There should be some kind of noise out there about agents (or other reps of college coaches) being contacted by IU and prelim talks going on. I know they're lawyers and all, but it seems like this kind of stuff does get leaked. Friends of coaches, family of coaches, etc.. leaking this stuff. There just hasn't been much info regarding college coaches being leaked. That being said, I'll say what I've said all along. I know I'm in the vast minority here, but I wouldn't be all that sad to not get Stevens. I know he's been super successful, but I'm not sure what you get from a guy who hasn't been in the college game for over a decade. I would also be a little bit worried about whether or not his heart would really be in it. He's turned IU down a couple of times already. After coaching in the pros and then being in the front office, would he really have the same hunger to do the day-to-day coaching activities with 18 or 19 year olds like he did when he was at the start of his career? It's a fair question at this point...
  9. This post pretty much sums up the IU fanbase during a coaching search. LOL
  10. It's kind of funny that other than due to injury, we have seen more starting lineup changes since Woodson was fired than we did in his previous 3.5 years. LOL
  11. I will never understand these type of arguments. Tom Crean got fired for a lot of things. But his inconsistency was one. His last 6 years, Crean finished 5th, 1st, 8th, 7th, 1st and 10th in the B1G. Like everything else about his tenure at IU, he was massively schizophrenic and inconsistent. When he won the B1G, he proved that he could never get past the Sweet 16. His recruiting was also massively trending down at that point. Crean had shown the world who he was by then - a mediocre coach.
  12. We should start playing BINGO with different cards of coaches, kind of like Business buzzwood bullsh*t BINGO (or some version of it). LOL I would love it if Dolson's dept was responsible for some of the disinformation going around. I would love to think that they were that competent...
  13. After the first 3 years of Crean (which we all seem to think are just mulligans, given the state of the program he inherited), here are his B1G finishes: 5th 1st 8th 7th 1st 10th He was the absolute definition of inconsistent. LOL
  14. You're an optimist. I was thinking once every week or two, butt...
  15. That would be an awesome one on one battle for the ages...
  16. Has IU ever had a worse scholarship player? I'll even qualify that if necessary. Has IU ever had a worse scholarship player who wasn't a walk-in who was gifted an "extra" one-year scholarship that was available?
  17. Right? It's amazing how the situation has changed in a couple of weeks. We went from being a great job with lots of interest to nobody being interested in the job, and we're going to end up with someone like Turgeon. This fanbase has a real case of PTSD. LOL
  18. Yeah, to be fair, Painter has had some rough losses to double-digit seeds in the NCAA tournament. Of course, IU hasn't been making the tournament, so there's that...
  19. If we're going to go down the Gene Keady tree, why don't we just go just for the trunk. I think Mean Gene is only 88. He might be a nice bridge to our next coach...
  20. I love this board. LOL And I was trying to decide between an old .gif, a strippers .gif or a bathroom sex .gif. It's so challenging with Pitino.
  21. Uh...I know you're kidding, but didn't Georgia prove that Crean didn't learn from his mistakes? His time there was an ever-loving disaster...
  22. I think this is a Quinn Buckner psych-op to slowly wear down everyone so that Randy Wittman will look good as the next head coach of your Indiana Hoosiers. Give it time. You'll see...LOL
  23. Would he just steal Dolson's credit card or would he get his own?
