I'm trying to figure out what Pearl would gain by making the move to IU. I remember him being mentioned during the last coaching search when Woody was hired too, but there's zero reason he would move now. He has Auburn rolling. They are in the SEC and have a very successful football program. I'm sure they have money. He has them at number 1 and they should compete for the title this year, so obviously he can win big there. And he's not from Indiana, nor did he go to school in this state. I get that he coached in the state at one time, but that seems pretty minor. What is the draw of moving at his age to IU? I don't get it...

I'm guessing it will be over Skype in May.

Well, look at Woodson. He's make obvious coaching blunders. He's been incredibly slow to make adjustments. He's a crap recruiter. Yet, NIL basically bought him ample raw talent. IU's resources are the only reason that Woodson isn't 17th in the B1G right now. Woodson is actually a great example of NIL buying a terrible coach the chance to be in contention to make the tourney this year.

Recent history would support that prediction.

This is the concern about Cronin at UCLA. I mean, he does have a final four, which is obviously a positive. But Harrick proved you can obviously win a title at UCLA post-Wooden. And Howland made a championship game and two additional final fours after Harrick. He was a weird dude, but he did win big for a while. I think Cronin would probably be really solid at IU, but he's certainly not shown himself to be an amazing coach. Of course, solid would look amazing compared to Woody, so...

I hope IU gets as lucky as L'Ville, then...

Point taken. I just wanted to point out that those of us who are as old as sh*t remember when Virginia was a power under Holland.

Baylor is a good example, but Virginia isn't. They were a good program in the past before Bennett. Terry Holland won over 300 games there and made 2 elite 8s and 2 final 4s. They had a good basketball history before Bennett...

You're not supposed on to focus on any of those. You're just supposed to focus on the fact that he played with Calbert in high school.

I feel good about the second half. No way will PSU shoot that well in the 2nd half with the type of shots that they take. A two point lead isn't nearly enough for them.
