  1. Read the post I responded to again, lol. You obviously missed what I responded to, again.
  2. Just out of curiosity, how is it “on its own” when you’ve been here to refute probably 25 different things?
  3. ….and there he is, right on queue
  4. I’ll tell you he’s out for $100.
  5. Those are the ones, yes. I don’t know any at that level, lol.
  6. I still think they’re being sent here to shoot something down whenever it comes up. It’s happened too many times now.
  7. I can tell you there has been significant donor talk of Beard and TJ. I can also tell you from past experience that donor talk typically doesn’t mean a whole lot unless it’s from the very, very top donors.
  8. Have you said anything about Dusty May? Do we have any shot with him?
  9. I remember one of the talking heads being interviewed right after the Archie hire. Might have been DeCourcy, but I’m not sure now. He was asked if Archie failed at IU, what would be the reason. He was shocked at the question. He said something to the effect of, “I never even thought of that. I hadn’t considered it. I just don’t see any way he will fail.” I was never anywhere near that confident, lol.
  10. I didn’t make up the 6-8 years. I quoted it from the post I originally responded to.
  11. I agree. But I believe hiring someone with a lower ceiling presents a risk in itself. Telling us older guys to wait another 6-8 for the ceiling that matches our potential may not work this time. That was the point I was trying to make.
  12. Could be. I watched their game last night. Lots of turnovers against a very poor team. They showed a stat that Creighton’s turnover margin is minus 4.4 per game, which is one of the worst in the country.
  13. A risk is trying to sell us on 6-8 years of top 4-5 Big 10 finishes and put off our aspirations of being a dominant program again. And I agree with the poster, that’s what McDermott would bring. Unless, God forbid, he brings whatever he brought to Iowa State.
  14. I’ll just say this, and people can think what they want regarding the quality of my fandom, but I think IU is taking a major risk if this is the route they choose. I am a late 80s IU grad and I have been a huge fan since the mid 70s. In other words, I am in the age group that grew up witnessing the potential of this program, and firmly believe everything is still in place to still be achieving at least close to that level (with the right coach, of course). I have a funny feeling that many my age, and especially those of us in northern Indiana, have little interest in 6-8 years of somewhat improved but still underachieving mediocrity, with a promise of better days ahead if we just hang in there 6-8 more years, especially given that there is an IU grad killing it in his first year just to the north of us. I am about at the end of my rope after 30 years of donating to and supporting a program that has consistently made decisions that led to underachievement. So I really hope the administration is taking into consideration the chance they may lose a chunk of the fan base if something like this is in their plans.
  15. Well, they have something in common. They both fired Woodson.
  16. Do some research on Baylor, their basketball history, and what Drew started with when he got there. It’s one of the most remarkable coaching accomplishments in the history of college athletics. He is a very good coach. There are a few other reasons people may not want him at IU, but coaching chops would not be one of them.
  17. Also, IU has a lot more time to do it’s homework on this hire.
  18. I was actually going to bring him up here a week or so ago. He’s certainly done an incredible job there, but would be making a huge leap to Indiana’s level.
  19. Is the stat that was referred to the all time win leader at a school, or the single season most wins at a school?
  20. The insiders there have mainly come here.
  21. I knew it wasn’t true when none of our community engagers showed up right away to claim we are in discussions with Craig Neal
  22. Right. Dusty May didn’t know a thing about IU until Woodson was let go. Good stuff.
  23. He going to put Stevens on top at 11:58, lol
