He doesn't have any info on Stevens so he needs to be able to talk about other possibilities....otherwise the conversations will be short with little information shared. But they still give their money to him. That may be even more bonkers than coming here just to call people liars and put laugh emojis on any Stevens post.

And that’s the funny thing to me. Move on from Brad. But not Cronin, Drew, Beard, etc. Why? There’s only one guy getting the job, and all the rest of them aren’t. So why is there only one he can’t talk about?

Because I think Scott knows he has to. This is the last chance. There are a lot of us who grew up with a great basketball program who are tired of investing in the underachieving crap of the past 25-30 years. We will find something else to invest in if it doesn’t happen this time, and I think Scott is well aware of that.

It’s about winning for sure, but you can still win here without throwing away your morals.

Certainly. The people a university chooses to coach and mentor 18-22 year olds don’t need to be saints, but they should at least be good role models.

I think, assuming IU and Stevens are talking, that it's more than likely there are attempts to stop leaks and throw off the scent. Every time we have an opening, Stevens' name pops up early at the top of everybody's hot board. I'm sure people can understand why neither our current team nor current coach need that distraction, especially when they are still fighting for an NCAA Tournament bid. And I'm sure Stevens doesn't want it either.

McCollum only believes in using the portal when necessary. He prefers 3-4 year guys that he can develop and impact their lives. He prefers guys who want to earn their way instead of transferring to a place with a starting spot and a high payroll available. So you’d be asking him to completely change his core principles if that’s how you’d want him to operate at IU.

Hmmm…you’d think we could get more than one guy a year if none of the other coaches care about it.
