  1. And hopefully after they’ve washed their hands.
  2. That's a shame. You guys are the best part of this board. But I get it.
  3. Last year and this year, Self reminds me of Knight’s last 6 years here….looks burned out and not as interested.
  4. “If Miller won” is the whole point. He didn’t. And there are good reasons why he didn’t even though he came from a winning culture.
  5. Looking at a resume and skipping over the personality and fit is what we did with Archie Miller.
  6. I like that, but we may have to change Assembly Hall’s name to Allstate Assembly Hall to be allowed to use it. :)
  7. It’s a few posts above here. I sort of jokingly speculated that they were coming here as coach and coach in waiting based on the flights that were tracked last week.
  8. I was somewhat joking to see what kind of response it would get, but it was based on the flights that were tracked last week to and from Bloomington to Albuquerque, Miami, Philadelphia, and Boston. Albuquerque - where Richard is coaching. Miami - Rick is represented by CAA Sports, who has an office in Miami. Philadelphia - St. John’s played at Villanova the night before that flight. Boston - don’t have an angle on that one, but Richard was born there. Maybe they needed his birth certificate or something? lol.
  9. I haven’t gotten any other reasonable response for why it always happens. I’m sure you’re not at all invested in what I choose to believe. And I can assure you, whether I believe it or not, I’m emotionally mature enough that I’ll be 100% fine either way. I promise. So, until I get an answer as to why a few of you guys care so much about this community engagement to shut down the Stevens talk, it seems a little fishy to me.
  10. Is it? I mean, I posted on this board last night that I have compelling evidence that Rick and Richard Pitino are coming here, and it got maybe 1 or 2 responses. Nobody even asked me what the evidence is. But I say “Stevens” in a post, who you say has zero percent chance of coming here, and you’re right here to comment. And prove my point.
  11. At some level, the number of people running around furiously, desperately, and unreasonably trying to mandate the shutdown of any Stevens talk tends to make me believe they might be true.
  12. It does seem that way. Either that, or somebody with an agenda is paying 5-10 people to come here for “community engagement.”
  13. I have 4 in. I think Lunardi has 4 in also.
  14. Thinking about the flights people were tracking last week….I can actually make a pretty compelling case that it will be Rick Pitino with Richard on staff as coach in waiting.
  15. People seem to be going to a hell of a lot of trouble to distract us from Brad Stevens. ;)
  16. Ghost of Bob knight post in 3….2….1…
  17. If I took both and gave you the field, who would win?
  18. Would that also rule out Mick Cronin?
  19. It’s happened more than people realize. White went from Florida to Georgia, too. Beard went from Texss Tech to Texas to Mississippi, albeit not all his choice.
  20. Sorry, I’m not on Twitter. Who else did Goodman say isn’t coming?
  21. So you think it’s about Stevens, huh?
  22. It’s a tough choice between proven, consistent winner vs. potential for highest ceiling. I think you have to analyze it coach by coach at that point and hope you make the best decision. Can’t afford another bad hire.
  23. I’m not sure who is realistic. I don’t have that kind of info. I mean, Stevens and May would be home runs to me. Oats, I’d take a big swing at him after that. Drew. I’d love Beard if he didn’t have the baggage. I’m not sure who would excite me a whole lot after that. I think if you’re going to reach down for a mid major coach, you better absolutely do all your homework as to everything about his approach and absolutely not screw it up this time.
  24. I’m almost 60. If Michigan can go from 8-24 to a 4 seed in the tournament in one year, it’s not unreasonable to expect Indiana to skip steps as well. I mean, guys my age especially lived what we’re capable of, and the fact that we’ve stayed around for 25-30 of mediocrity is pretty remarkable. But I think it’s time for IU to stop taking that remarkable support for granted.
  25. I think you make good points here. The problem is, some of us older guys have lost patience and have little interest in “stabilize.” And I think, given both the current landscape of college basketball and the resources at our disposal, it’s OK to expect more than that. Quite frankly, I want to be sitting here 6 or 7 years from now and be thought of as one of the 6 best programs in college basketball, because that’s absolutely what we’re capable of.
