  1. Last I heard, it was a pretty significant hamstring injury. I'm not one to bang on coaches or staffs on message boards, but we see way too much of this, in my opinion. Probably time to take a long, hard look at Clif.
  2. Yeah. I know. But NET ratings are very close to Pom Ratings minus the pre season and prior season ratings. NET Ratings also have a result based factor, but that is less than 10% of the total rating. That’s why they are very similar after Ken Pom removes the pre season and prior seasons from his calculation.
  3. Yeah, I can second that. In short, those people think they should get whatever they want for the money they give, and if they don’t get it, the money stops immediately.
  4. There’s more to it than that. Check their NET ranking when it comes out Monday.
  5. There’s still a lot of previous season data included right now. They’d be around 175 without that.
  6. I wonder if he has ties to North Carolina. If not, I’d hold out for a B1G or SEC job if I were him.
  7. I posted earlier that the buyout for him to leave seemed disappointing, but then I did some research and found it’s actually well above average. Looked at contracts for guys like Ryan Day, Lance Leipold, Mike Elko, and Luke Fickell, and those guys all only have to pay like 5 or 6 million to leave. So we probably got a good deal given the market.
  8. Correct. That part is pretty disappointing.
  9. Yes, the loss on Saturday was disappointing. But looking back…one year ago today we were on this board waiting to see if a coach would be fired and wondering if we could ever be somewhat competitive in football. Today the whole nation is discussing what seed we should be in the playoff. Truly amazing.
  10. Because SMU was a national power back in the 1980s, so they have to be better than IU now.
  11. You'd think (hope) he would have learned something. Guess not.
  12. Since the discussion turned to Crean, I’ll share this here. This came directly, a while back, from someone who served as one of Crean’s assistant coaches. He said Crean was as good as anybody with X’s and O’s, particularly offensively. He was also as good as anybody at taking a player out of a game, giving him feedback on what he needed to change or do better, and putting him back in the game and seeing the results of that feedback. He said Crean’s biggest weakness was organizational skills, both long-term and short-term. That showed up in recruiting, and in the daily operation of the program. For example, there would be mornings where nobody would even know what time practice was that day. The assistants would have to text Crean for the time, and then text the players. So players often couldn’t even plan their day because they didn’t know what time practice was.
  13. It would be. But they'd have to bleep a lot more of it out than they did for Allen's, lol.
  14. I think so. He de-committed as soon as he got the Georgia offer, I believe. Seems like that is what he was waiting for.
  15. After his “commitment,” Pat should ask him what schools he is visiting next week.
  16. Why I ultimately thought he wouldn’t leave IU: Regarding IU’s unprecedented success, “I own it. My name’s on it.” When he’s done here, he will be talked about in the same breath as RMK.
  17. I’m convinced that Joey Galloway is on this show just to make Booger McFarland look intelligent.
  18. Gotchya. So based on one more game, you decided that the 2 losses were upsets, and the Stanford game wasn't an upset. Well, I hope you're right and you won't need to change your mind again, lol.
