  1. Last season didn't count against his eligibility so I really fail to see how it was a huge mistake to forgo his senior year. 3 years of playing against HS competition obviously didn't prepare him well for college ball and the B1G so I very much doubt that another year would've helped. If he had stayed in HS the Lander we saw last year would likely be the Lander we'd be seeing this year. 1 season of practicing against college players, the bit of game experience he got last year, a whole season of college coaching (even if was Miller), and 1 year of college nutrition and strength training and conditioning have him better off than he would be coming straight from HS this season. He's improved quite a bit. He's still not good enough to get a lot of PT at this point, but he has improved because he was much worse last season. Last season was basically a redshirt season except with actual game experience. Even if last season had counted against his eligibility I would think that passing up his senior HS season was a good idea. Since it didn't count then there is no way it was a mistake. He improved more over the last season than he would've by staying in HS.
  2. Dual meet wins for both men and women. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/12/3/mens-swimming-and-diving-no-6-12-hoosiers-best-bearcats-to-close-fall.aspx
  3. Yes, that was mentioned. My guess is that the mom and agent probably don't care about that and might be looking at some of the alternative routes to the NBA. I have no information more than what Stuhoo posted but that is the impression I get reading between the lines.
  4. I feel your pain. It's gotten down to almost 50F in AZ at night. brrrr
  5. They tried to double TJD early in the 2nd but he just kicked it out for an open 3.
  6. I thought this was a Crean recruiting visit?
  7. Yes, that happened. His first year they had 5 non-con losses (ISU, Seton Hall, Duke, Louisville, IPFW) with only the Louisville loss being single digits with a 9 point loss so even that was barely. Not a great start.
  8. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/11/19/mens-swimming-and-diving-no-6-12-iusd-steady-through-two-days-at-ohio-state-invitational.aspx
  9. Maybe not. TJD only shooting going right means he might get shut out or close to it and Lander leading the team in assists in his 6 minutes of play doesn't leave me very optimistic, either. That's a lot to overcome so a 21 point win would be great.
  10. IU men with NCAA A cuts in 2 relays. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/11/18/mens-swimming-and-diving-no-6-12-iusd-sparkles-to-open-invitational.aspx
  11. He's having surgery tomorrow and they should have a good idea of the recovery time after that. 8 weeks sounds about right from what others have said.
  12. This sucks. Galloway has had wrist injury problems and his wrist was already wrapped. At least the player got elected.
  13. Missed FTs and bunny shots will do that.
  14. This is what Galloway brought to the team last year, as well. There was a stark difference in the energy level when he was in the game versus when he wasn't. The same was true of Leal and Geronimo also but not to nearly the same extent as Galloway. If he hits shots he'll get lots of PT. Son of a coach that really understands the game and has a great motor. He's one of my favorite players on this team.
  15. I think a cap is out of the question. That would get overturned in court so fast it would have the NCAA leadership's heads spinning. I believe the ruling by SCOTUS made that a nonstarter. They said something to the effect that the NCAA couldn't limit athletes ability to earn from NIL.
  16. Terrible for me. I live in AZ so that's 4:00. Get out of work at 5 then a 45-60 minute drive home. So no live watching of the game for me. I have Youtube TV set up to record it so I just watch when I get home.
  17. I'm confused by people who think that 21-23 wins and 5th in the B1G would still bring only a 7 seed. That would more likely be a 5 or 6 seed.
  18. Gelon ended up at State Fair Community College then Trinity then Bethel. It was announced after SFCC that he was transferring to Missouri State but I don't know if that ever happened or not. I think the head coaching change was before he attended.
  19. I'm pretty sure the only college basketball game actually played on an aircraft carrier was the MSU/UNC game, probably about 10 years ago. Edit: Yes, that game was in 2011. Syracuse and San Diego State also played a game on one in 2012. Wind had an effect on at least that game, but I think both. Not great playing conditions.
  20. I don't know if it is or not but my thinking on why it might not be allowed is because they'd pay the entrance fee which could be viewed as giving there players money.
  21. Since an NIL event I doubt the coaches can be there except maybe as spectators and maybe not even that might not be allowed. L
  22. I think Mason Miller's main issue was the offense under Archie Miller.
  23. The days of the NCAA as the enforcer are over. At this point its a paper tiger, a neutered one at that. It's main purpose for existing - maintaining the façade of amateur collegiate sports - is out the window. Incompetence and hubris has been its downfall.
