  1. What does that have to do with whether they're an employee or not? I go to a restaurant because of the food they serve, not because of the servers or any other specific employee. Servers come and go but I still go to eat the food. The servers are still employees.
  2. The Supreme Court doesn't agree with you. Their work brings income to the university. Sounds like an employee to me, too.
  3. I agree with that and have thought much the same myself. The ineptitude of the NCAA runs deep, not just in its policing of its own rules but also includes the making of those rules in the first place. They've dragged their feet for so long and it's going to bite them in the a$$.
  4. Hoosiers well represented on the Olympic team. Apple is also a part of the 4 x 200m (800m) Free Relay team. Ray Looze is also an assistant coach on the team. Drew Johansen is the head diving coach for the 3rd straight Olympics.
  5. Yeah, those 4 were the only ones to finish in the top 16 of their events. 13 total swimmers with IU connections swam yesterday. It's awesome that Matheny is in the finals. He's going to be a good one. Actually, I guess he already is. lol
  6. Many more than that (see 1st link in the post directly before yours) but those are the swimmers who placed highest. I haven't watched it yet, but those 4 were probably the only ones shown on TV.
  7. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/13/mens-swimming-and-diving-thirteen-iu-swimmers-compete-in-day-one-prelims.aspx https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/13/mens-swimming-and-diving-matheny-advances-to-mens-100m-breaststroke-final.aspx I can't find a story about it yet but Capobianco will also dive individually on the 3m at the Olympics. He took 2nd at the trials. Edit: Here's the story. Other divers also did well. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/13/mens-swimming-and-diving-capobianco-qualifies-for-second-olympic-event.aspx
  8. Hoosier divers did very well. 3 are going to the Olympics and 2 others also had great performances. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/11/mens-swimming-and-diving-hoosier-trio-headed-to-olympic-games-2020-tokyo.aspx
  9. That's like 4 or 5 full seasons. Pretty impressive considering the last couple of decades. It kind of surprises me to see Illinois that high.
  10. Past, current, and future Hoosier divers doing well. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/9/mens-swimming-and-diving-five-hoosiers-advance-to-individual-finals.aspx
  11. That's interesting. 247 and Rivals have him as unranked but the 247 composite has him at 70. The sites that have ranked him must think quite highly of his skills and/or potential. Surprising that his name is just coming up as having IU interest since they've been recruiting him for so long.
  12. 1 current Hoosier, 2 future Hoosiers, and 2 alumni. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/7/mens-swimming-and-diving-three-hoosiers-carry-leads-into-final-dives.aspx Tristan DeWitt advances to Wave II of the trials. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/7/mens-swimming-and-diving-seven-hoosiers-compete-in-final-wave-i-competition.aspx

  14. Duncomb rocking a mullet. I hoped he does something different for the season.
  15. IU well represented in the Olympic trials diving competition. https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Diving/News/2021/June/03/2021-US-Olympic-Team-Trials-Begins-Sunday
  16. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/5/mens-swimming-and-diving-dewitt-finals-in-day-two-of-wave-i-olympic-trials.aspx
  17. The Olympic trials have begun. IU has swimmers there, of course. Steele made it to Wave II. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2021/6/4/mens-swimming-and-diving-hoosier-trio-competes-in-day-one-of-wave-i-olympic-trials.aspx
  18. And now the hiring of Thad Matta looks even better. Too bad Roberts jetted but there is still that GA they hired.
  19. The guy making that video didn't seem to think highly of him. He was rooting for them to fight and seemed thrilled by the result.
  20. I saw on FB that Jon Rothstein reported that Jordan Bohannon was attacked on Sunday morning and received a serious head injury that required medical attention.

  22. Oh, definitely splitting hairs when talking about the highest ranked 4* or lowest ranked 5*. Rankings aren't entirely accurate and certainly not with the precision of 1 ranking position having any meaningful difference. I just find it interesting that he would be a 5* in the composite but not a 5* in any of the 3 major ranking services. There might be others that go into that composite which have him as a 5*. I'm not really sure. It's not really a big deal, just something I find interesting.
  23. NCAA's ineptitude continues to be displayed. It isn't as though they haven't had time to figure it out. The state of Indiana should pass a similar law so at least the athletes at IN schools could take advantage of the NIL while the NCAA gets its $#!7 together. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ncaa-council-unlikely-to-recommend-name-image-likeness-rules-as-states-laws-set-to-go-into-effect/
  24. Certainly adds more doubt to the whole "Brunk was forced out" view.
  25. So he's not a 5* in the individual rankings (at least 247, ESPN, and rivals) but he is one in the composite rankings. That's interesting.
