  1. I'm guessing UConn is the team to beat here. He does say good things about the IU coaching staff and assembly hall but it might be hard to beat the in-state team which just won the NC.
  2. Josh Matheny finished 2nd in the 50m breast to make the world championships team.
  3. Before his senior year or senior season? I haven't seen any quotes but are you sure it's year and not season?
  4. https://247sports.com/college/indiana/article/video-qa-calbert-cheaney-details-return-to-indiana-respect-for-m-212493457/
  5. Yep, almost 7 fouls per 40 minutes. He did improve some over the course of the season in this aspect but still fouled a lot. He's said he's working on defense a lot during the offseason so being able to defend without fouling is quite likely something he and the coaching staff are concentrating on improving.
  6. TJD got himself a good deal for 4 years with 2 years guaranteed. In that way, it's like a 1st round contract but the money won't be. Still way better than most 2nd round picks get.
  7. Another headcase Miller missed on. His terrible recruiting did have some positives.
  8. Lilly King sweeps the breaststroke events at Nationals. 50m, 100m, and 200m champion.
  9. It wasn't a joint injury. It was a broken bone in his foot. I'm pretty sure it didn't require surgery but instead he got surgery to try to speed up the recovery process because he really wanted to play again last season. Anyway, I'm done with repeating myself. You don't think he's a lock as a starter. You're welcome to your opinion which will ultimately be proven wrong when he's a starter next season after practicing all summer at 100% barring n unrelated injury in the future.
  10. Maybe her keeps entering the portal waiting for that it IU or PU scholarship offer which will never come.
  11. For the money they're getting, there will always be people who know basketball and are willing to put in the work. Good luck to him or other coaches on finding similar income. Especially with less work. I don't know what Wes Miller's background is like, but I'm going to guess his family was pretty well off.
  12. Yep. The priorities of the committee seem to shift every year. I've seen interviews with committee members done years where they explicitly stated that the number of wins was a large factor and other years where they placed more emphasis on SOS. Best bet is to to find a nice balance between the two where the team can get plenty of wins with a decent SOS.
  13. So they have to work hard and all year to make millions of dollars per year? I don't feel sorry for him.
  14. Sisley is very good though, despite his ranking.
  15. A thin center ranked in the 40s I wouldn't expect to have a huge impact in year 1. A thin center ranked in the 40s of his original class who then reclassifies up a year I definitely wouldn't expect a huge impact in year 1. A year ago he was a 5* and has dropped quite a bit. Will probably be good in time but I doubt it next year. Maybe after he transfers to play for a coach who can actually develop players and not the snake oil salesman at UK.
  16. Here's the gold star you're looking for.
  17. A few years ago, there was a proposed rule change that would allow undrafted players to retain NCAA eligibility. I don't think it's been voted on yet and didn't pass if they did. That's probably what people are talking about.
  18. He's a 6th year player who has started all 45 games he's played at IU. The injury was a broken bone so there is no reason to think he won't recover completely, especially almost a year after the injury occurred. His competition is a freshman who, while a 4* recruit, was not in the top 100 and is more of a pass first type player. If I was a betting man, I'd put big money on Johnson starting. I think Cupps will give IU some quality backup minutes this year but he'd have to drastically outperform Johnson to take his starting spot. He also needs to add weight even though he's already strong.
  19. Apparently they were the only team willing to give TJD a 1 year contract rather than a two-way contract. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2023/06/23/iu-star-trayce-jackson-davis-said-no-to-pacers-not-other-way-around/70348734007/?fbclid=IwAR1Tfjl-yyuN2wQPcZ4l7H3Hl9KuYSYMXvRZNdLUxQopCJ5hwWlOXc4qdYc
  20. Didn't Miller recruit him?
  21. TJD taken with the 57th pick by the Wizards. He's have been better off going undrafted than be picked by that team. Edit: check that. He's going to Golden State. That might be a good spot for him.
  22. JHS picked 17th by the Lakers.
