  2. Pretty misleading since most of those are "interests". His only 2 offers, per 247, are Mississippi State and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Unranked 6-0, 160 lb PG.
  3. Even taking into account that walk-ons enter the portal that is a huge number with no team. Maybe low-major bench players are the majority?
  4. This Longhorns writer thinks IU has the lead here. Doesn't sound like he really has any inside knowledge but still nice to see. https://hookemheadlines.com/2023/08/12/texas-basketball-predicting-longhorns-next-commit-after-cam-scott/2/
  5. Right, the best upgrade the stadium could get would be a winning home team.
  6. I'm pretty sure Old Fart posts about every sport.
  7. Sounds like he wouldn't have done well at the college level and I can't imagine he'll do well as a pro unless he grows some thicker skin quickly. He might be good but I doubt he's good enough that coaches will go out of their way to accommodate his sensitivity. Then there are the fans...
  8. I totally agree about the pictures. I do appreciate that this one actually included measurables unlike most of the before/after photos.
  9. He played for UConn last year. Didn't do too much in the 36 games he played.
  10. Thanks. I found this article. They'll probably be very good again but being early in the season IU has a chance to steal one if they mesh earlier than UConn does. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/uconn-basketball-roster-breakdown-starting-lineup-prediction-bench-rotation-depth-outlook-for-2023-24/
  11. That's a nice early test. I haven't paid too much attention to other teams: how much of last year's team is UConn returning?
  12. I really enjoy seeing Duke miss on recruits.
  13. Either Ware or Mgbako. They have the highest ceilings so for them a great season would be much better than and more impactful than anyone else on the team. On top of that, it would vault that player up the draft boards which would only help IU in future recruiting. Between those two, I think Mgbako is the more likely to have a great season.
  14. Sure doesn't. No mention of IU by him at all, even when talking about schools in the mix. He left out both IU and UK but mentioned the other 6 schools in his top 8. Also no mention of wanting to visit IU. I'd also say that I find it unlikely he'll end up at K-State. Even though he said it's a cool place, he mentioned twice in a short time how it's in the middle of nowhere.
  15. He's entering his senior year and just turned 17. So he'll turn 18 in the July before his freshman year in college.
  16. They were HS teammates for a year so he's probably aware of the good and bad of IU directly from MR.
  17. If that's true, it's a pretty D-bag move on his part.
  18. It's definitely more travel but them acting like the conference was all close together isn't really accurate. UofA to UofW, for example, is a 24 hour drive so flights and likely at least 1 overnight stay would be required for that. That said, it seems as though there was ~0% consideration to the athletes given by the conference and schools. At least we no longer have to listen to them spew crap about how "amateurs" can't get paid.
  19. FSU and the other 1/2 of the ACC which want out still need to figure a way out of the poorly thought out agreement they signed. I'm sure they'll get there eventually but it'll take some time.
  20. He did have 1 season at Missouri so we don't only need to look at his MAC stats. Subpar 3-point percentage that season at only 30% at ~5 attempts per game. Even his FT percentage that season was way down from his other years so many that was just a bad shooting season for him? Kind of sounds like the increased competition level messed with his head to me. IDK. He did start most of that season and played a lot of minutes as he also did at BSU. That makes me wonder how happy he'd be to play as a backup getting significantly fewer minutes. He is a large guard at 6-5 which is what Woodson seems to like. Anyone know about his defense? 2021-22 Missouri SEC JR 31 21 28.5 3.1 8.7 .361 1.6 3.8 .436 1.5 4.9 .303 0.9 1.4 .643 0.5 2.9 3.4 2.8 0.9 0.2 2.7 2.1 8.6 9.10 https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jarron-coleman-1.html
  21. Yeah, I don't get all the hand-wringing so many have about his health. Sure he missed most of last season but not because of complications or the seriousness of the injury but just because of the time it naturally takes to heal. He was close to coming back at the end of the season so no reason to think that he wouldn't be fully healed well before next season.
  22. Sounds like JHS in that aspect as he was said to be a gym rat while at IU too. I think Cupps is the same from what I've read. That's the kind of culture that has been missing since Miller took over so I hope it rubs off and others become as dedicated to working on their games. Crean had many faults as a coach, but he did do a good job of bringing in gym rats and built that kind of culture.

  24. I'm shocked! Okay, not so much. Especially considering who his father is. Good player but not a huge miss going by both his ranking and the schools still in the mix. Solid but not great and IU is still in the mix on some better players.
