Your point stands but Cupps is ranked better than Phinisee out of HS. Phinisee 247 composite was 131 (rating of 0.9401) while Cupps is at 91 (rating of 0.9598). So closer to Phinisee than to Isiah or Yogi but I wouldn't say about the same.

I think ticket allocation is also different for a "neutral" court game vs on-campus. So even though Atlanta for Auburn or Indy for IU are close to home, I think the tickets are allocated differently so that it's easier for the traveling team to still have a lot of fans there. If they travel well like IU does, that is.

Purdue had something that IU won't have this year which made a huge difference with how effective their freshman guards could be: Edey. Cupps is already one of my favorite players on the team next year but I don't expect him to have a huge impact as a freshman. He might get 10 mpg. Maybe.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that IU had a pro day before the season started and the scouts came away from that very impressed by JHS. So it's not like JHS came out of nowhere towards the end of the season to work himself into a 1st round pick. It's more like he was already on the radar and had some really good games which showed he could perform well in games and not just workouts. It's things like that pro day that I think Woodson will continue to do to help his guys get drafted. I'm sure the other big schools probably do that too, it's nice that IU has started to. It's also a recruiting tool against any schools which don't typically do that, such as IU until now.

I think we definitely need Mgbako to be one and done. If Ware plays the stretch 4, as I expect, and gets drafted that would also be huge. Then Woodson would be able to sell recruits of any position on players he put in the pros. TJD was the center he made an AA and went from undrafted to probably getting drafted. It would be really big if TJD somehow moves up into the 1st round but I doubt that happens. JHS at point guard. Mgbako on the wing. Ware at the 4.
