  1. I wouldn't hate that. I don't like KC much but they do have an offense he'd do well in.
  2. Someone on 247 asked if he was injured a few days ago. There were no replies.
  3. I briefly met ARE in college. Seemed like a cool dude. Wasn't a very big guy at all. Even smaller than I expected.
  4. The highlighted has another possible explanation. Another poorly constructed roster could also be the coach and staff. Identifying what is needed, talent evaluation, and being able to land those players are all on the coaching staff.
  5. Say what you will about the NCAA but they're not afraid to tackle the hard hitting issues like this one. Well done, NCAA. Puns intended.
  6. This hire isn't a surprise. There's been talk of hiring someone to this position since CDD was hired. I think he even talked about creating a GM position.
  7. At this point, I'm extremely apathetic about the basketball team. I don't know the schedule and don't really care to look. I saw on here yesterday that there way a game against NW then got off the site and completely forgot about it until I checked the site today. I see that we lost at home to a bad NW team, hurting the chances of making the NCAAT. I only feel mild disappointment because this has become what I expect of the men's basketball team these days. A decade of usually being a bubble team or worse, usually ending up on the wrong side of the bubble. A far cry of being disappointed by a season that ends with the team getting a 6 seed. Maybe CDD will figure it out and turn it around. I'm leaning towards he won't but there is a chance. I hope he does. If not, this thread will probably overtake the Fire Woodson and possibly the College Bball threads in number of posts by the time he's fired in 2-3 years and yet another coaching search ensues which will probably result in another meh hire. I'll continue to somewhat keep track of how their doing but not really caring too much when they lose. At least there are still other teams worth following more closely at IU: football, swimming, and soccer. Edit: why does the title of this thread say both how he's "doing so far" and "TBD"? Those are contradictory.
  8. There's a problem. It's missing 2027 and 2028
  9. It would be a huge mistake by the NCAA to do vacate IU's wins this season, unless they really want to speed up their demise. - It's a great story, public opinion would be against them. - Telling a P4 school that their wins were vacated for using a player that they were told had eligibility would make the P4 schools just that much closer to breaking away from the NCAA. - Could IU sue the NCAA since they were told by a judge that the player had eligibility? Let's be real for a second here, for any of this to happen, the NCAA would first need to actually win a lawsuit. Their track record isn't in their favor.
  10. I'm so glad we didn't hire this jackass. The jury is still out on CDD, but Cronin would've been a terrible hire.
  11. I just checked. IU is still the undefeated National Champions. 16-0. It's starting to look less and less like it was a dream.
  12. So Mike Woodson wasn't stuck in the past, he was ahead of the times. Bring back Woody!
  13. It's like deja vu all over again.
  14. Not that rankings really mean much, but with the obvious eye for talent Cignetti and the coaching staff has and the team's success, I expect that unranked or lower ranked recruits will get bumps in ranking just because IU is recruiting them. Maybe the rankers will think they're just missing something or look more closely and see something there as well, but they'll probably give them a bump.
  15. If only the fans had wanted Woodson out after year 3. We really blew it.
  16. Quite the step down.
  17. Why does no one on this site know how to spell his name? It's McGollum. What's really weird is that he's always talking about his "precious." Kinda creepy, really.
  18. Even AI is trying to delegitimize IU's success.
  19. There are many flaws in ranking systems. I imagine in football even more than basketball since you're dealing with many more players to have to look at. I don't know as much about football, but in basketball one of the bigger flaws is that they're not really be evaluated on how well they'd be thought to perform at the college level but more skewed towards evaluating them as NBA prospects. This leads to looking at just athleticism and body over actual productivity. I wouldn't be surprised if football has a similar problem.
  20. And a terrible return on that investment to boot.
  21. Wow. I'm big on Thiry now, too. Quite the multisport athlete with skills that translate to football: running, jumping, and understanding leverage.
  22. To add to this, $39M is only 0.65% of $6B. To put it in terms that us not rich people can understand, it's like someone asking you for $0.65 if you have $100.
  23. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2026/01/23/indiana-national-championship-wont-be-replicated-by-others-curt-cignetti-fernando-mendoza-nil-portal/88310890007/
  24. Considering IU put up video game numbers IRL, I wonder how easy it will be to do that in the game? lol
  25. He's totally going to be a politician at some point. He always gets in his talking points. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in broadcasting after his football playing days are done. He's very comfortable in front of the camera.
