McCulley Enters Transfer Portal (link)
OGIUAndy replied to Dave from Dayton's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I think it sucks that he's leaving but man, what timing. 5-0, ranked, bowl eligible with one more win (most likely will get a good bowl), scored his first TD, team might be in the CFB Playoff hunt? Seems like a dumb time to bolt, but I guess most of this is "business" and he had to enter before he played too much more to keep a year of eligibility. But going through the last couple of seasons, you'd think he would be starved to win. His contributions and playing time most likely would have increased as the BIG schedule continued, also wasn't he hurt? I don't like to rip players at all but some of the Allen guys come off as soft or at least the optics are that. -
Yes I can. I knew from the start they hired the right guy. IUFB has had some talent, bad coaching has killed them. We as "true fans" deserve this.

Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn

I was literally coming here to post the exact same thing. He has been spot on. -
I guess as a student I didn't care about the "experience" as much as kids do today. I went to watch the game and to hangout with my friends. But the game day experience seems to be much more important for people now so IU definitely needs to pick up the pace. But regardless of the game day experience lacking etc. taking a 4-0 start for granted is a mistake if you're a IUFB fan or student. Enjoy it when it happens. Make your own game day experience by packing the place. Just my opinion.

I get what you're saying but when I went to IU and the team was mediocre I went to all the games and that was when the team was also borrrrring. This team is exciting regardless of the competition and should be competitive in every game. Very rarely if ever has IUFB put up this many points and give up this few to start a season. I understand to get "fans" you need to be consistent for a longer period of time, but the students should jump on the bandwagon as soon as possible. There should be A LOT of students in the stadium in each game going forward.

It's weird how much better coached they look. Actually making the plays that are there. They look like a real team. Not winning because of fluke plays and definitely passing the eye test. Way more "pro" looking. -

I've had one, literally one piece of inside info during the current administration and it was very "inside" and solid. But it had nothing to do with recruiting which I assume is very, very fluid and a lot harder to confirm with certainty. And to repeat, I am not bashing anyone's info because I really do appreciate and enjoy it, but recruiting info seems to be the most widely speculated and inaccurate on a day to day basis for many reasons including what you're mentioning; intentional misdirection to counter leaks. -

I cleaned up my original post a bit for clarity's sake. He may or may not go to IU, but my overall point is, having followed a lot of recruiting over the past few years, there doesn't really seem to be a lot of validity to 95% of the rumors so I take most with a grain of salt. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the rumors and find them interesting, but some stuff is hard to prove unless you're getting it from the horses mouth so to speak. -

I understand what you're saying, and don't know anything about Mullins feelings but you're using what "Locked On UConn’s" Mark Zanetto said as confirmation to what you've said previously. I have no idea where the rumor is coming from or who you know that is saying he doesn't like Woody much, but a UCONN guy saying he won't go to IU "...if he doesn’t feel comfortable with IU’s staff" is pretty obtuse or as general of a statement as one could make and most likely based on fans apathy or distain for Woody last year, not any real insider information. In other words this just sounds like this guy repeating the negative recruiting rumors previously mentioned. But like I said, I don't know anything more than what's been mentioned online. -

You can rip Woody all you want, but one thing he's proven, he gets guys ready for the NBA. -

Lander didn't pass the eye test immediately and nobody was ever saying he was going to be great or even good. Most people were saying he was way overrated if nothing else. And most of this stuff is hard to take seriously. These types of takes are very lazy and semi insulting. -
