I don't think he's coming but you have to admit that Goodman Tweet is pretty weak. Field of 68 whom he tagged said "sources" then he said Stevens said he is not a candidate but then his quote is about the Celtics, and doesn't mention IU or anything about coaching. Also the timing of the Tweet is coincidentally coinciding with the bombs dropped here? So there seems to be a lot of bs flying around by donors or other people these guys are talking to and why? What's gained by lying about this? And if everyone here are trolls, seems like they would drag out the trolling a bit longer. So a very odd situation regardless.

Why though? Nobody (outside of these forums) was reporting anything "official" up until then. Who are they "smoke screening"?

That's my guess if you had to put a gun to someone else's head. Stevens would be great. I think May would be great if not better because I would have some concerns about Stevens longevity if he got burned out from coaching in his 30s. Stevens would definitely be the splasher more exciting hire, but May leaving UM would be pretty sweet. Not going to complain one bit if we get either.

I know people don't like to be called out as fans (as we know from Woody's faux pas) but there are a lot of fair weather fans when it comes to certain sports.

Yeah, this account has been good with FB recruiting, but I didn't understand what predicting Rich Rod to UWV would have to do with IU basketball or why anyone would have thought that post was in anyway related to Stevens/IUBB etc.

So during Woody's tenure/struggles AND when IU decided to move on, you had Cronin in mind as the new hire? I'm sure he'd be fine, but I doubt most people were thinking, yes, Cronin's the guy to turn this around.

He was a great teacher and one of my favorite classes at IU. I don't think he hated sports, I think he hated that Knight was basically able to do whatever he liked without repercussions. He also wrote a book how 99% of athletic departments lost money for schools.

So not much different than 90% of people who post about IUBB on social media.
