  1. I cleaned up my original post a bit for clarity's sake. He may or may not go to IU, but my overall point is, having followed a lot of recruiting over the past few years, there doesn't really seem to be a lot of validity to 95% of the rumors so I take most with a grain of salt. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the rumors and find them interesting, but some stuff is hard to prove unless you're getting it from the horses mouth so to speak.
  2. I understand what you're saying, and don't know anything about Mullins feelings but you're using what "Locked On UConn’s" Mark Zanetto said as confirmation to what you've said previously. I have no idea where the rumor is coming from or who you know that is saying he doesn't like Woody much, but a UCONN guy saying he won't go to IU "...if he doesn’t feel comfortable with IU’s staff" is pretty obtuse or as general of a statement as one could make and most likely based on fans apathy or distain for Woody last year, not any real insider information. In other words this just sounds like this guy repeating the negative recruiting rumors previously mentioned. But like I said, I don't know anything more than what's been mentioned online.
  3. You can rip Woody all you want, but one thing he's proven, he gets guys ready for the NBA.
  4. Lander didn't pass the eye test immediately and nobody was ever saying he was going to be great or even good. Most people were saying he was way overrated if nothing else. And most of this stuff is hard to take seriously. These types of takes are very lazy and semi insulting.
  5. If his QB skills are as good as his trolling skills...

  7. I'd rather have the program stable/doing well for the next coach. You'll also get better candidates. I am not expecting many in this thread to agree. Just giving my two cents.
  8. What great coach wants to take over a blue blood program that has "bottomed out"? Woody getting the program respectable is a much better long term gain that what you're describing and it's not even close. I am trying to find ANYONE who thinks "Mike Woodson is the answer for IU basketball"? I think some just rather he do well than not. If he's fired after year 4 he will be the fifth IU HC since Knight that has not lived up to expectations. Not going to be an attractive destination for the top candidates, so the cycle will likely continue.
  9. This is so bizarre to me that people care about this at all. The school, Woody, and Dolson have ZERO reason to work with or work out anything with these guys. You want to criticize the coach, great, but expect him to keep accommodating you? Come one man. Anything they were doing the school can do on it's own and most likely better.
  10. People have said this about every coach we've talked about on these forums. Sounds like I agree with one thing here. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Everybody wants their guy and if they don't get him, they complain about it. Boring stuff if you ask me. If he wins, who gives a **** who likes him or who doesn't. I don't think there's much more than that. And Woody will get fired just like the guys before and the guys after him if he doesn't.
  11. So you expect a coach to provide program access to a couple of podcasters who are openly saying he should be fired? Whatever you think of him, no other coach on the planet would do this. Most coaches probably wouldn't have given those guys the access to begin with. This is really not that complicated or surprising. These guys f'ed up the good thing they had going. Any major college program would've reacted as Woody. I don't care about Woody's arrogance. A "booster" who tries to get the coach canned will never have access to that coach again. It's really pretty simple.
  12. It's their show and they chose to make those episodes available. I have also heard from others (I haven't listened to their podcast in a couple of years) that they were also going out of their way rip Woody as well. They have every right to criticize Woody all they want, but don't be surprised by the repercussions when you bite the hand that feeds you. I don't get why people think Woody is doing anything differently than any other coach would do in this scenario.
  13. I agree, but brining in 5-6 man classes is also not the way anymore. The chances of those players sticking around for 3-4 years is not very realistic.
  14. Any team who's not playing that game is going to lose out when it's all said and done. Continuity is important, but if your team is a bunch of freshmen and sophomore's playing against 3, 4, and 5 year guys, you're going to lose regardless if the older team was "bought". Filling in the gaps with said "bought" players instead of relying on freshmen is the way to go. The idea that continuity is better than buying players sounds good and I suppose teams/schools that have poor NIL can try to sell that idea, but I am not really buying it. When it's all said and done, both are finding players that fit and play well together. Older players don't have to figure everything out though. Continuity at the end of the season (tourney time) is when it matters most.
  15. I can't help myself, but other teams' offenses rely on low averages and few bombs?
  16. Who's a good fit that's available? Lakers want a splash hire. Hurley would be that. Whether it works or not, well hiring a college is always a crap shoot. But it's one, if not the best franchise in the best league in the world. As a coach, that would be hard to turn down. I don't get what Hurley would have to lose if they basically give him a blank check. Who knows anything about whether his family wants to stay on the east coast? And he can always take other jobs after cashing in. He's not signing an lifetime contract.
  17. Brad Stevens is not going to coach again.
  18. I have paid attention to the Fever a bit since Sides was hired and she just doesn't seem like a good fit. She always seems to be trying too hard or in over her head. She seems to be over coaching, like she's coaching high school kids. It's hard to put my finger on it, but she just doesn't seem likable or relatable or maybe respected by the players? I haven't watched enough to know for sure but it's just the vibe I get. I'm not one to immediately point fingers at the coach when things go sideways, but they should be better than they are and now she seems to be making excuses, pointing fingers and getting defensive. That being said, the roster construction of this team over the past few years has been terrible. How many high picks have come and gone? I know it's a lot different in the WNBA. Regardless, now that they've got some pieces to build on, they need a big time coach. I'm sure they're chomping at the bit to go there too.
  19. Wayne, Carroll, and North Side have been decent at times the past 10 seasons. Problem with high school (like college) these days is kids can pick their schools. So it's hard to keep teams together. FW area has always been an up and down. IU has never recruited that area well for whatever reason. PU and Painter have.
