They Fired Walt Bell

Knight would have never allowed anyone to ask him questions, right? He would never be in position where he didn't control everything. -
He's been hurt. He would have been lethal on IU this year.

IU 55 ISU 7 -
I am going to wager that you are wrong on this one.
-
Nah, he's Prime Time and that's not a prime time type of school. Also he's not "young", so he'll make the jump sooner than later.
-
And don't be surprised if it's FSU regardless of what type of success they have the next couple of seasons. If Deion has a big year, this could be his only season at Colorado. He's definitely leaving it's only a matter of when and where. But it will be in the south or a warm weather school.
-
You know Deion isn't going to be there very long, right? He'll hit the road as soon as the first big time school gives him an offer. I myself said IU needed a guy like Deion, aka someone to bring a spotlight to the program, really light a spark. But that's a double edge sword because schools like IU and Coloardo are not "destination" jobs. I think everyone knows CTA is in over his head as a coach, I think most were just hoping he'd surround himself with really good coaches and just "lead" the team. But that's probably not super realistic at place like IU. Good assistant coaches will leave, and replacing them year after year is difficult so the head guy needs to be a really good x's and o's guy. I get the frustration with what's going on, but I think the timing of the most recent uproar is a little misguided or misplaced. Let's come back to this (again) in 4-5 weeks. But regardless, IU is not forking over $20M to CTA. So if the season goes horribly south, he either quits/resigns (highly unlikely) or there's a negotiated buyout, I would assume around $10M. That all being said, I am going to wager that IU wins 6 games this year. The offense will get better (how can it not) and the defense looked very good.

But is a Golden Hurricane a weather event or more extreme golden sh*wer? Just asking for a friend.

I love ridiculous mascots. The uglier and dumber the better in my book. I think the weirdest thing is they couldn't find a picture of the stadium full? And if not, they could just photoshop it?
-
I assumed that. But it still seems weird.

Does the portal have a wormhole or something? How are guys still entering it?

2023 IUFB Prediction League - Week 1 vs Ohio St 9/2/23 3:30pm CBS

I'll go IU 38 OSU 28. #GoHooisers -
He's older than me at this point. He should be able to grind out a few minutes and not embarrass himself. Maybe not in crunch time or against tougher competition, but yes, I think he should be able to play some spot minutes outside of mop up time.
-
My only argument would Galloway and now Johnson have a history of getting injured. And now they're down a freshmen. So you're primary backups are Cupps, Leal (who has an injury history of own) and Gunn. Although you are correct, any team can say this about any position, I think the concern is Johnson is coming back from a season ending injury and Galloway's game seems to put him at higher risk of injury than others. And if either goes down for any amount of time, you're relying on guys who have not played or contributed much at all. I do think it's silly to worry about what ifs, but one "reliable" back up would be nice to have. That being said, Gunn can't play any worse and if Leal can't give us 5-10 minutes off the bench, then I don't know why he's on the team. Cupps, I think should be able to do the same.

Agreed. That's basically been the achilles heal of IU for....ever. -

For sure. He should also use any and all the RBs. One of my biggest beefs the last couple of years is not using all the RBs. Unless we have a total badass, allow multiple RBs to get some touches throughout the game. We have 3-4 capable guys, let's allow them all to contribute. -

I thought was the other way around though? I thought Sorsby was the more "fleet of foot" than Tayven? -
100% for me is the concession stands same as at AH. More of them please.

Definitely scouting has been bad. I understand there isn't the draft depth in the WNBA and there are very limited spots each year, but you'd think they'd be able to find at least rotational players if not starters drafting that high the past few years. Hopefully they get the top pick again this year.
-
Isn't that "organization" just the same as the Pacers for all intents and purposes? Simon is the owner. So not sure why it's been such a "sh*t show there. But they seem to be getting better, but are still playing zero defense. Much like this draft, the next draft will be huge for them.

Got me. He's not on scholarship though. Maybe he's working out with them?
