I look forward to seeing him on the floor much like I did last year. Difference from many on here however is that I am cautiously optimistic. I'm afraid too many here have unrealistic expectations of a kid that has yet to play a minute of college ball. I will hope for the best and expect the realistic. I'd just like to say that as far as Penix vs Ramsey it isn't even close. Penix absolutely has the upside that Ramsey doesn't and therefore he gives the team the best chance I believe. Now I will say that Penix needs to work on accuracy and at times taking a little off of his throws and putting some air under others. Those things can be worked on. Overall I thought he looked good. This thread seems to be polarizing. Kind of odd that anyone is upset about it really. 1) some people clearly are interested in this kid and his development whether Archie wants him or not 2) don't have to read every thread. There are a number of threads that I don't even open because it's either something I'm not invested in or I already know the basic tone of the whole thing. I agree on repetition/beating the dead horse but if you want to start regulating that then you'll have to eliminate about 25% of posters here. I hope not as well. I'm not being a pessimist for the sake of being a pessimist. I really want Archie and the team to succeed beyond anyone's expectations. However, based on what I have seen with my eyes I do not believe this is a much improved team over last year. I honestly doubt Archie gets fired after year 3 but it's suppose to be a hot take right? Doesn't matter. All kids think they're better than their ranking. A problem with this generation. Although I sucked pretty much around the board I knew that. Today kids are told they're great. Guess what? 10% of kids today are great at one thing. In my age 10 % of kids were great at one thing except they seemed to know what that meant. Today they all (185 per year) think they are lottery picks. End one and done to end the unrealistic nature of HS kids! Don't care who we get or don't but the one's we do get I want them to expect to be here for 3 years at minimum. I no longer give any craps about recruiting. Too many times I've seen guys that come in with huge expectations fail to meet them. Opposite of that I've seen many times guys come in without any expectations and become some of my favorite players of all time. Let the coach worry about evaluating talent and deciding if he "missed" or not and I'll just evaluate the on-court performance from my recliner. After all it is only him and his staff that will lose their jobs if it doesn't go well. With that said I am really wondering how the shooting woes get worked out.
