  1. Good Lord ... We are losing now.
  2. Dude just gave a big chest bump to Smith ... Al got called for a charge in the first half for the same thing -- and it was the right call.
  3. One thing I hope these guys are learning by watching PSU (and that's a we've pretty much been doing for the past 10 minutes -- watching), just because you're down by 18, 19, 20 on the road doesn't mean you can't get back in it. When that happens to us on the road, we quit.
  4. Sometimes I wonder if Archie lacks an instinctual feel for the game. When I was in college, we played at Notre Dame. Jamal Meeks didn't play a minute in the first half. But Knight felt we needed to be smaller and quicker in the second, so he started Meeks for the final 20 minutes. He gave us a great lift and we won. ... The same 5 who started don't necessarily need to start the second half.
  5. A 19-point lead down to 6. Time to wake up, fellas ...
  6. It's not likely you'll score when you have to go the length of the floor with 3.7 seconds to play. But you've got no chance when you catch the ball at the opponent's FT line, take two dribbles and launch a 60-footer. ... That just wasn't smart.
  7. Race, when you get burned like that, you gotta let him go ...
  8. I replayed that last sequence since Fox wouldn't. Al definitely lowered his shoulder and initiated contact. Good call. Disappointing play, because Al should be smarter than that. But it was the right call.
  9. No, no, no Devonte ... YES! Great shot. LOL!
  10. I thought the announcer was gonna say the ref realized Al actually did get clipped while shooting that 3 ...
  11. So, the third foul against Stevens is rescinded -- but he's still in there. Hmmm ...
  12. Man, to let one of your best players get three fouls in the first half is pretty reckless.
  13. Need to keep scoring while we're hot -- cuz the drought will come.
  14. He had been mentioned as a candidate at IU one of those times we had an opening. Maybe when we hired Sampson? I think, however, that was because he had a history with Greenspan -- who I believe hired him at Illinois State. Glad that didn't happen. For one (despite the success of Teri Moren), I don't want a Purdue guy coaching IU. For two, Stallings never impressed me that much anyway.
  15. I did the same last night and it worked. I'm logged in through verizon. This morning, it says "Your subscription does not allow access to this program."
  16. Good grief. I can't believe what a total scam the B1G Network has become. ... I had to work last night and didn't record the game. I did monitor the live stream, but couldn't pay real close attention. So when I got home, I started watching the replay on FoxSports.com. Unfortunately, I dozed off. I went to rewatch the final 10 minutes or so this morning and it's already archived. So I have to have a BTN-plus subscription just to watch a game that's less than 12 hours old? Pretty damn lame, BTN and FoxSports. You really suck!
  17. Was it the Zeisloft game? ... Certainly we've won there since then???
  18. TJD was in beast mode tonight. ... You can't help but wonder where that's been in past road games?
  19. Al clears everybody out, then he falls down. Good grief ... Lucky he got bailed out with a foul there. And little Richard is lucky he didn't get a T. Should have, actually.
  20. Keep in mind that Cronin was at least No. 4 on UCLA's depth chart. First, it was Cal. Then it was Barnes. Then it was Dixon. And only after they whiffed on those three, did they turn to Cronin. I'm not sure if that's the exact order -- and there may have been more they chased -- but those are the ones I remember.
  21. The deal is done. Beilein is officially a free agent ...
  22. Actually, it's not a myth. Most coaches at top programs will at any given time, have at least four years remaining on their contract -- whether they are a "strong" coach or a "weak" coach.
  23. I think he gets next year because that is the critical season. After that, you pretty much have to do one of two things: Fire him and move on; or extend him. Next season is the fourth year of a seven-year contract. So barring any changes before then, after next year, Archie is down to three years remaining. For recruiting purposes, you don't want your coach at a Power 5 basketball program having less than four years on his contract. That's why you cut bait or add another year to his contract (or two, depending on how things shake out next season).
