  1. Damn! Shot clock violation. ... Waited too long ... Gotta make your move with about 10 seconds to go.
  2. Definitely rooting for my Hoosiers today, but I will say this: I have a TON of respect for Vivian Stringer. A very classy lady.
  3. Chill ... I misunderstood your point. ... I thought you we were saying we wouldn't have a center at all ... My bad.
  4. I'm not sure we have a center now. LOL! But De'Ron is the only big we're losing. Brunk is a redshirt junior and hopefully, TJD will be back.
  5. As of midnight tonight, it'll be 2020 24 hours to go. And after watching last night's game, I wanna be sedated!
  6. Nothing I've seen over the past few games convinces me this won't be ugly. Prove me wrong, fellas ... Twerps 82, Hoosiers 66
  7. I'm not smart enough to determine Archie's acumen as a coach. I'm still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. But what really chaps my a$$ is that in the three years here, he's failed to recruit anybody who can shoot the basketball (maybe next year's class will be different). We cannot continue making 4 and 5 and 6 3-pointers a game. Pro, college and high school ball -- it's about hitting 3s. Steph Curry is a superstar for one reason -- he has range to 35 feet. We won't succeed until we can make shots. Pounding the ball inside to TJD and getting fouled a hundred times a game is all fine and good, but when you're making 9 of 18 FTs and 5 of 21 3s, you're gonna lose. When you're making 2s and the other team is making 3s, simple math gives you your answer.
  8. It's official: We are a football school!
  9. Plus, with Ed Orgeron, you get this ...
  10. The announcer almost got his name right. ... Can you imagine Fisch screaming: "THE THUNDER DUNK BY TED JACKSON-DAVIS!!!" ...
  11. On paper, the teams seem very similar: They're 10-1, we're 11-1. Neither has really beaten anybody (outside of our win over FSU). We went 1-1 against them last season (losing by 1 in Arkansas; winning by 3 at the Hall in the NIT). Both lost leading scorers from a year ago. I'd love to say we win by 10-12, but nothing is easy for this team, so ... Hoosiers 71 Hogs 68
  12. Before it was obvious DeBoer was headed back to Fresno State for the top job, I saw a couple stories saying PSU might try to poach him. Instead, the Nits stole Minny's OC. As for me, I don't feel too sorry for the Rodents -- ever since little Richard told his old man to hire Kenny Johnson away from our basketball program ...
  13. Plus, he's the best to ever put on an IU football uniform. I would hope that would carry at least a little bit of weight ...
  14. I can't claim to know much about all this -- basically, what I read here and on a couple other sites -- but from my viewpoint, I'd like to see Chris Reynolds and Pat Kraft get serious looks. It seems to me Scott Dolson is good at what he does, but might not be the right person to oversee the entire department (i.e. -- hire/fire coaches). ... Obviously, I don't keep tabs on all Power 5 schools who hire ADs, but it seems to me most do not promote from within, especially one who's never done it before. I realize Glass had never done it before, either, but he seemingly had some other qualifying credentials. Most schools seem to hire an experienced AD -- and in this case, one with ties to the university would be a double-check plus (to quote Fred).
  15. Not sure I understand not being ranked, but it doesn't bother me a whole lot. ... What completely flummoxes me is PU getting more votes than us in the coaches poll. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
  16. I guess I'm in the minority here -- because I like the Classic. As far as I know, it's set up to be a one-day showcase of Indiana's top college programs. And it serves that purpose. It gives fans a chance to see all four in the same place on the same day. One day is perfect; it doesn't need to be a tournament. And I'm not sure if you bring in an Evansville or an Indiana State or a Valpo or a Ball State instead, there would be the same interest. And I like that the PUs are in the same event, but we don't play. I wouldn't want the Classic to serve as a conference game. Those are for later and for the Hall and Mackey. As far as scheduling, I'd be all for playing ND or Butler (whichever we don't play in the Classic) every year -- at Hinkle or in South Bend or at the Hall, however it works. (Full disclosure: My family and extended family has grads from Butler, IU and PU -- so we really enjoy watching it every year. We still haven't been able to attend one, but I'd love to at some point. The only school not represented in my family is ND.)
  17. Hate to say it and hope I'm wrong, but I think that's the dagger. Just can't get over the hump. Had it down to a one possession game several times, but never could tie or pull ahead.
  18. 4-15 from 3. 12-22 from the FT line.
  19. Every time we have a chance to tie or go ahead ... we find a way to screw it up. A turnover. A bad shot. Missed FTs. You name it, we've done it.
  20. At times, we're too unselfish. Making an extra (unnecessary) pass while passing up a good shot.
  21. On one play, two of our gals went after a rebound and it bounced off both their hands -- right to a UCLA player. Need to communicate better.
  22. At last, starting to get some stops. Unfortunately, we're not scoring at the other end.
  23. We beat South Carolina when they were No. 5 and hung with Baylor for three quarters when they were No. 2. Cannot figure out why all of the sudden we can't play against the No. 10 team -- in the Hall. Just can't make a bucket.
  24. Other than the obvious fact that we need outside shooters to knock down shots and help unclog the middle, one thing I noticed is that we really, really loose confidence after a couple poor offensive possessions. Throughout that entire second-half drought today, we had possessions in which we got good shots, but instead of going up confidently and shooting as if we're going to make it (like we did in building the 17-point lead), we just seem to go on a wing and a prayer -- we just fling it up and hope it goes in. Al had a couple nice drives and instead of shooting a nice, controlled layup, he just seemed to fling it up there -- almost just hoping it would go in. Granted, both drives were with his off hand, but he's a junior at a Power 5 school -- he ought to be able to easily make a right-handed layup by now. I almost felt kinda bad for him -- he worked so hard to make a nice drive to the bucket, but he didn't seem to have the confidence to finish what should've been easy shots. And he wasn't the only one. I know we can't expect to make every shot, but boy, once we start to go south, we go in a big way -- and can't make anything. Even when we're getting relatively decent shots. That's when it seems Archie needs to step in and do something. What, I'm not exactly sure. But with no outside shooting to help loosen things up, we need something -- anything -- to help us snap out of it. Maybe it's a timeout to draw up something different. Or a timeout to kick some a$$. Or a timeout to give some encouragement and pat someone on the a$$. But it just seems he needs to do something.
  25. Until that last assist, Al was awful in the 2nd half
