I have said many times I don't want an IU guy because none of them have earned it (obviously IMO.) I want the best we can get and Woodson, Cheaney & Lewis aren't in that conversation. Doesn't mean they couldn't succeed, just too much risk.

Plus... That is a GMC Yukon Denali. I’m sure it would be more in the lines of a GMC Yukon XL or a full size Chevy Suburban.

I know Woodson really pushed for the job the last two times. Asking rich people in Bloomington to call on his behalf to help sway Glass. This could be all smoke and mirrors

It will be very interesting if Woodson gets the job because a friend of mine was actually told by Woodson at the start of the search that Stevens was the next coach lol

I'm warming up to Coach Woody

This is the hire that will absolutely define Scott Dolson's career.  We just paid a $10M buyout.  He's not going with some crazy outside the box hire like Woodson, Cheaney, or Fife.  If it goes bad which it probably would his career would be completely finished.  He's going to hire a proven winner with P5 experience.   Stop this crazy talk.  Half the fan base would tune out from day 1 or be rooting for us to lose if he made a hire like that.  Dolson is not dumb.

I like the patience of Dolson but a coach will need to be announced in the next 2 weeks if not we risk losing our players and good players in the portal

One thing I’ll say about why Stevens should be considering the job is “lifetime earnings,” and it’s kind of interesting because you rarely hear anyone talk about it.
By turning down IU, he’s not walking away from $7M per year over 7 years or whatever we think the offer might have been. He’s actually walking away from $7M a year for 20 to 25 years. $140M to $170M!!!!!
He’s not going to be the coach of the Celtics for 20 more years. And his next NBA stop isn’t going to pay him $7M a year (I don’t think).
It’s just like Fitzgerald at Northwestern. Dude can stay there forever. Stevens isn’t being offered a lifetime contract by IU (we don’t think) but at the same time he kind of is.
Do I think he’s coming? No. But for what could ultimately be $140M to $170M I think he’d be crazy NOT to.
