I know all games are important, but we all know some games are just hard to get up for. That is NO EXCUSE for lack of hard play, but it is reality to some kids. I wonder how many of these kids have truly overlooked these early games, thinking they are cupcakes and potentially easy wins. You know it happens.

He does like working inside out first, that his go to. I personally would like to see some more 3's, but he obviously wants success and comfort inside first. JMO, but I think he is wanting the basic fundamentals of a half court set where the ball moves around the perimeter, screens set and better post play first from this new group of guys. He may be trying to break down a few of these guys to do exactly what he wants. Sounds just like a Coach Knight. If guys aren't getting it, "A$$ meet bench..." -
I can’t see Dolson making any moves (if he does) until after the Purdue game…Bowl chances are a wash, but two trophy games are our bowls now…
-
The only other thing I can think of is it was a text while driving…. Or when you talk into your Apple Watch. It just doesn’t get you exactly what you want sometimes…. Lol All seriousness, I’m just kidding and having fun with the text. No offense to Scott.

I thinks drinking may be involved in his texting??… lol

(2024) PF - Derik Queen to Maryland
Artie86 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I know this recruitment is a bit odd, however....I wonder if he is wanting to see both IU and Maryland play a few games first and see how he could be utilized on both teams? Maryland plays #22 'Nova on Nov. 17th, IU plays #6 UCONN on Nov. 19th then IU vs. Maryland on December 1st. Who knows......I thought I would take a stab at it.. JMO -

Ware really continues to impress me. He played very protective and aggressively around the rim last night. He is deceptively smooth for his size. I loved seeing him get fired up and clapping his hands together after some of his monster blocks. Cupps is the other player that I really enjoy as well. Jarred Odle posted a text last night and I will paraphrase, "Cupps is the perfect, throwback prototype of a Coach Knight guard." -
Unfortunately, MSU seems to lose one of the early season, head scratchers each year, but usually recovers quickly......

Not too bad..... That puts him at the very end of November, first part of December if all works out. Maybe he comes back sooner, but I wouldn't want to rush him back too soon. -

We are a majority of teams door mat and a (likely/guaranteed win) game circled on their calendars..... Fortunately for us, we are slowing trending in the right direction. I just hope it's not fools gold. -
Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

I remember watching IU when Sam Wyche coached IU. He also resigned the IU logo and changed the colors to actual cream and crimson… It was ugly….IMO lol -

…Speaking for myself, I never said we would win out. The way we have played for two straight weeks, the odds are obviously better. Lol However, 2 weeks ago I would have given zero chance of that. You are right though, how quickly things can change, good or bad. -

(Sorry so long, but give it a peek…) Look, it’s no secret that many of us want a change at the top, including myself. I was major holdover and the Maryland loss put me over the edge. If there is any positives to come out of these last two games (Penn St./Wisconsin) it’s this….. We were in a horrible tailspin this season, leading up to the Penn St. game with no end in sight. Things appeared to be imploding around the team and fans. Head hunters were out with lit torches and IU fans on social media wanted Coach Allen gone yesterday! I eventually felt that and unfortunately, wanted the same. With all these things being said and knowing what’s going on around you as a coaching staff and team…., what changed in recent weeks? Something that many of us aren’t realizing is that this team or at least the majority, still believe and respect Coach Allen. This team obviously, still has fight and wants to win! The direction this entire team was going including the coaching staff, should have been pummeled by Penn St. Players aren’t going to put that kind of effort in a coach if they don’t believe in him or respect him. Something has changed positively with this team whether we want to believe it or not. I think the most glaring, positive change in recent weeks is the OL & Coach Carey and the progression of Sorsby. I blame Coach Allen, because he waited too long to fire Bell and establish ONE staring QB. So….now, here we sit with 3 winnable games left. - In my opinion, if we win all three remaining games and win our bowl game, Coach Allen deserves another year, NOT multiple. (I don’t know how that contract stuff works). - If we win all remaining three and lose the bowl game, I still feel we need a change at the top. - If we lose just one of our remaining three games, obviously we won’t get a bowl. In this case, Coach Allen definitely needs to be let go. JMHO…. Go IU!! -

….and there’s something wrong with believing that? SMH…. -
Many IU fan, specifically us older guys do know this. All due respect to IU, Coach McCraken and all he did for IU basketball, but Coach Knight is and always be the pinnacle of Indiana Basketball. Speaking for myself, I want Coach Knight memorialized in a big way by adding his name to the court or to the "Hall". This would be paramount. JMO.

I totally agree with you.... In regards to Coach Knight, I really appreciated what he had to say about him. I sort of liked him for a little bit in that short video...lol You just don't realize the positive impact Coach Knight had on coaches everywhere. We are really starting see the tremendous impact and positive influence he had on people not directly associated with IU.... Powerful stuff!

I would want the statue to personify....Great Coach, Great Leader and Motivator. I wouldn't want him to look angry or yelling, but determined and encouraging.....
