I just talked to my guy good friend in Bloomington. He was my old college roommate. He worked for IU in sports management and had several connections with former IU players. I just thought I would ask what he thought or heard… This was was his reply and only a rumor of what he heard. Mind you, this is what he has heard, but he said who knows. Take it for what it’s worth. He said his source is from inside athletics… The rumor over the last few weeks… Is that Allen will be fired and his replacement is Antwaan Randall El. Apparently it’s a done deal. Allen is a good guy and incredible values but unfortunately that doesn’t win games. He will end up a defensive coordinator somewhere. Another rumor is Southern Cal is interested in him for the DC job.

….He knows what’s expected of him. He also knows this is a business too.

I've been feeling this way for a while... Those types of schools get up for playing historic schools like IU. No excuse, but I think we get down a little playing those kind of schools ....

I know all games are important, but we all know some games are just hard to get up for. That is NO EXCUSE for lack of hard play, but it is reality to some kids. I wonder how many of these kids have truly overlooked these early games, thinking they are cupcakes and potentially easy wins. You know it happens.

I bet Oregon is thinking....."Man, why couldn't we get that out of him?" He looks totally in his element at the low post and has the mindset that, "I am going to score this bucket one way or another!"

Ware has been extremely impressive only 3 games in.....Shew! I think he has better footwork and ball handling skills than Edey...

He does like working inside out first, that his go to. I personally would like to see some more 3's, but he obviously wants success and comfort inside first. JMO, but I think he is wanting the basic fundamentals of a half court set where the ball moves around the perimeter, screens set and better post play first from this new group of guys. He may be trying to break down a few of these guys to do exactly what he wants. Sounds just like a Coach Knight. If guys aren't getting it, "A$$ meet bench..."

I know this recruitment is a bit odd, however....I wonder if he is wanting to see both IU and Maryland play a few games first and see how he could be utilized on both teams? Maryland plays #22 'Nova on Nov. 17th, IU plays #6 UCONN on Nov. 19th then IU vs. Maryland on December 1st. Who knows......I thought I would take a stab at it.. JMO

Ware really continues to impress me. He played very protective and aggressively around the rim last night. He is deceptively smooth for his size. I loved seeing him get fired up and clapping his hands together after some of his monster blocks. Cupps is the other player that I really enjoy as well. Jarred Odle posted a text last night and I will paraphrase, "Cupps is the perfect, throwback prototype of a Coach Knight guard."
