This. Few people are willing to recognize the hurdle this team overcame at the end of the year regardless of making the field of 68 (or not). 1-12 could have been even worse. But they rose to the occasion against some solid teams at the end of the year and still had themselves in consideration for March. They played better than expected without Langford. They seem to have overcome whatever personal dissonance was afoot during that stretch. And the injury bug; you’d have thought it was a communicable disease on this team. Believe it or not, there was a little positive in all that was the 2018-2019 season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Agreed. But he (Rob) still has the tools to lead this team. I believe we’ll be pleased as he gains experience, confidence, the team develops cohesiveness, and he can go concussion-less. As a freshman starting PG he had a lot working against him on top of Yogi being the measuring stick by which many people tried to measure him.

Few people would be “a Yogi” because he stood out with blinding speed and freakish strength for a PG. If you’ll remember, Yogi struggled his freshman season. To say RP doesn’t have the tools is borderline irresponsible as a basketball fan, unless you specifically mean he won’t be the athlete or Yogi clone people unrealistically want him to be. He definitely has the tools to improve (and he will). His ceiling is high and he can be a 4 year stud. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

2019 General Recruiting Thread

Came across this as well. Benjamin Roderick, 3-star 6’5” SG/SF out of Ohio. Seems to have gotten some late attention from larger programs, namely Ohio State, Wisconsin, Xavier, and Butler. Anyone else heard that Ostrom went to watch him? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Based on how the Watford recruitment has supposedly gone it would seem he's not playing that game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Ahh yes, I was. Thank you. I'm not a fan of the family in general so it's easy to lump them as one. Good catch [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

You can understand I'll be very upset if Tommy Boy is gone from the thread media. My restraint will have been for nothing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

And while we’re on it, the only B1G team I would even remotely consider supporting would be Michigan. Much respect for Coach B. Everyone else can SUCK IT. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Thank you, Captain Obvious. (The only reason I didn’t respond with a picture of the captain is so the thread preview would stay on the Tommy Boy gif) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

[quote post="508469" timestamp="1553084444" "depending on who you believe, he (Beilein) was on an airplane with a contract in his hand when Herbert vetoed it and insisted Indiana hire a minority to replace Davis." So intriguing and, if true, incredibly frustrating. Also, nice post in its entirety and spot on. People, as a fanbase, just forget. The fact that we have had little to no national relevance the last 20 years makes them forget even more quickly what got the program there to begin with. I would like to see a similar build to the program and I believe we will. CAM gets things done on the recruiting trail and will continue to find his players, but it will take time.
