And followed it up by saying he still thinks he's the best scorer of his generation ha.

Bracketology and Team Resumes
American HoosierX replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Probably because of their net ranking, which I realize it's not ultimately that important for seeding, but I bet it had some effect. The fact that Tennessee is ranked ahead of Kansas in the NET right now is absolutely mind blowing. Kansas - 15-5 in Q1 games and 3-0 in Q2 games (ranked 6th) Tennessee - 6-5 in Q1 games and 3-3 in Q2 games (ranked 3rd) -

I don’t know, there are questions about Jesus’ arm strength. -
IUBB vs Purdue: 2/25 @7:30 on FOX
American HoosierX replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Except the NCAA committee already ranked us the best 4 seed and we’ve been at worst neutral since then. We’re not as close to a 7 as a 3, that’s just objectively wrong based on positioning from the actual committee. -

First of all, we’re 5-8 in Q1 games now thank you very much. Second of all, he said we are a borderline 3, but he was mostly disagreeing with you putting us as a possible 7 seed. If you would have said 4-6 it’d be reasonable but we’re not going to be a 7 seed. -

Not meant to denigrate him because I think his improvement is phenomenal. But he doesn’t get much elevation and doesn’t have a quick release. It will be tough for him to be a super high volume shooter. That being said, the ball rotation on his shot is beautiful. -

I mean what a 2nd half!! Wow that was fun. -
I’ve about given up on Bates being anything but a spot up jump shooter. He doesn’t have the handle to break anyone down off the dribble, and he doesn’t have the wiggle/fluidity some players have to get around guys. He’s also not a great passer. Besides taking open 3s, all he seems to be able to do is put his head down and take a couple hard dribbles and then try to elevate for what is usually a very poor shot that he will be lucky to make 1 in 5 times.

While your argument may have a leg to stand on regarding quality of games, I was previously conceding quality of rivalry. You now have mentioned three games where the rivalries are not at the level of IU / Purdue. And Duke / UNC will not get near the ratings it has gotten in previous years. Maybe it will be a higher rated game than IU / Purdue, but I sure as hell wouldn't bet on it.
-
I don't think anyone is arguing IU / Purdue is a better overall rivarly, especially over the past decade. However, a few points: 1) IU throttled North Carolina, and Purdue throttled Duke - IU / Purdue is the better game in terms of quality of basketball. 2) This will arguably be the most anticipated IU / Purdue game in a decade and one of the least anticipated UNC / Duke games in a decade. Pretty good argument to be made that gameday should be at IU.

Agreed, I am OK with #4. However based on resume, we should be #2. Stanford has 2 losses and our wins are better. LSU has beaten pretty much no one.

How does the crow taste?
American HoosierX replied to RaceToTheTop's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Whether it's too early depends on your point of reference IMO. If you were someone saying you didn't buy into the top 15 preseason hype, then fine it's too early. But if after our 1-4 start, you were saying the team is toast and Mike Woodson is a lost cause and dead man walking (me), then I think a little crow is already appropriate. -
When is Pasternack going to get a chance at a high major? His run at UCSB has been pretty remarkable.

Exactly. Wtf was his leverage?

I think it’s safe to say X meant a lot more to this team than anyone realized.
