Why does JHS have such a long leash? -
Agreed. I don’t know how anyone can watch Geronimo this year and think this is a guy that deserves more minutes. He may be a good 1 on 1 defender in the post, but he’s often out of position on defense and he’s slow laterally. He’s also failed to convert on easy shots near the basket numerous times this year and has almost no versatility on the offensive side of the ball. He’s jacking up 3s when open and shooting a torrid 17% from the arc with many of his misses being not even close. I was hoping for a big jump this year from him, but I just don’t see it.

Financially, we are set up to compete with just about anyone outside of the Big Ten and the SEC. This will be an attractive job for the right coach. -

I'm willing to bet their NIL deal at OK was pretty decent. -

What I find annoying about your posts is how often you just make a comment without elaborating at all. In what way do you not see it like I see it and why? That we didn't win a bowl game is a statement of fact and unless we have a major turnaround shortly, the program will be in a worse place than when he started from both a wins and losses perspective and a momentum perspective. It's possible to acknowledge that Allen did some great things for the program while also acknowledging that we are in major trouble. This program had a lot of momentum that Allen absolutely had a lot to do with creating, but if he gets credit for building it, he also has to take the blame for botching it. Some terrible coordinator hires and retaining Hiller (or if you want to play semantics, insisting he receive a 2-year contract) were chief among his mistakes. -

I will always look back fondly on the 2020 season, was quite a ride. At this point though, it's looking increasingly likely he will leave the program in worse shape than he found it. And we never won a bowl game thanks to the idiocy during the TN game and just an out and out awful performance against Ole Miss. -

At the end of the day, the good news is that we're in the Big Ten. When Allen does inevitably get the axe, we have the resources that an up and coming coach should find appealing. -

We had two amazing coordinators on both sides of the ball, that while Tom Allen deserves credit for hiring them, proved after they left that they had a lot more to do with our success than Tom Allen himself. -
They Fired Tom Allen!

Not to pat myself on the back, but I could dig up my post from a few years back that LEO would get old really fast if we stopped winning. I also feel like there are very few ADs at big-time schools that that would have staked their job on the LEO culture and why the huge extension wasn’t totally necessary. No one will be writing articles about LEO this off-season. -

Any chance Cam Jones plays? -
I don’t disagree, but he was basically arguing against this line of thinking.
-
I guess I don’t understand your argument, what is actually causing the underperformance come tourney time in your mind?
-
Agreed Gonzaga is a bit overrated at this point, their PG play leaves a lot to be desired. And some of the studs they have brought in haven't panned out so far (e.g., Hunter Sallis). But I think their floor is probably top 20, and a win over a top 20 team by 20 on a neutral court is impressive no matter how you slice it.
-
They just beat Gonzaga by 20 on a neutral court. I think it would be harder to argue the opposite at this point.
-
I know, I'm almost ready to give my mea culpa. Would figure our 5 star Indiana point guard turned out to be terrible (Lander - his stat line at WKU is reinforcing that) while Smith barely cracks the top 200 and is immediately really good.
-
Seriously, Purdue is laying the wood to Gonzaga. Is it time to admit Braden smith is legit?
-
43-42, what a barnburner.
-
That is legitimately wild. Is he worse than he was a high school senior at this point?

Wow just wow. I had turned that game off 3 separate times. And the ending was a cornucopia of emotions. Never expected us to score in 2 plays in double OT. Williams threw two great passes including the 2 point try, with the OL giving him time both times. -
Seriously, when Colby Jones fouled out he basically refused to leave the court and said it was a BS (not abbreviated) call multiple times clearly within earshot of the ref and yet that’s not a tech while whatever Reneau said was? The taunting doesn’t affect the game in any way and yet the techs are going to affect the outcome of games. A 2 shot penalty is a big deal.
