I talked to one of the members of the staff at the fantasy golf experience on Friday. He said the culture in terms of work ethic is "much" better this year than last year. Some follow-up questions confirmed that Cupps and Sparks are a major reason for it. Beyond that, it would just be inferences regarding players on the team last year, but I wouldn't say it supports Leal being a gym rat.

Have to wonder how this is different than the actual combine. Oladipo did 15 reps at the combine and Zeller 17. -
2022/23 IUFB Offseason News
American HoosierX replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
In the near future, there will be very few teams outside of the big ten and sec earning more than us in revenue. Maybe we’ll still struggle to be competitive in the Big 10, but we’ll be able to pay for coaches and should still be able to field a very competitive team nationally. -

Maybe not this year. But we’re raking in enough money from the BIG to create a successful program over time. -

I don't think he'll be our leading scorer because he hasn't proven he'll be able to stay on the floor. He was very foul prone last year. That was something that was very underrated about TJD, his ability to defend without fouling. -

The problem is that you can't test for CTE while someone is still alive, at least that's my understanding. -
He almost played at the end of the year last year. Your skepticism is based on literally nothing. You’re right we don’t have access to all information. I’m not sure what brand of toothpaste gabe cupps uses, but despite not knowing that, I bet he brushed his teeth this morning.

Damn, need to buy the driver of that car a beer! -
Not that it couldn’t happen but I feel like expecting coaching to improve someone’s shooting is a bit of a pipe dream.

Guessing he's just trying to squeeze more NIL money out of Kentucky, I mean they need him.

(2022) - SG C. J. Gunn to DePaul

It’s a message board dude, it deals almost exclusively in conjecture and “hypotheticals.” And give it a rest man, the lottery number joke wasn’t funny the first time. -

Yeah there's definitely at least 1 every year. I'd say 80% of the time, it doesn't manifest the next season. -

How do you pronounce MM’s last name? Sorry if already covered. -

I cancelled my peegs membership in large part because he was so annoying. He was the king of telling you almost nothing and then claiming after the fact that his almost nothing tidbit predicted it all along. -
Same with me, I’m 36 and my grandpa got me started on them when I was about 8. Can’t remember a season that started like this.

Incredibly lucky! If IU wasn’t in the big ten already, we would have a 0% chance of being invited into it. And the big ten money we’re getting is such an advantage. With some of the bad contracts in other conferences (like the ACC) Indiana will be able to outspend the majority of P5 conference schools. There is no real reason we shouldn’t have a legit football program in 10 years.

Kaufman thought he was a 3 coming into college. Maybe he knows better now, but I don't think he'd be excited to play the 5.

Considering we could get better value out of the portal, I would say no. -

I think the relationships that the coaches have with the '24 and '25 kids and the NIL dollars we have to offer is probably more important than our on-court success next year. -

If true, I'm guessing that part of that is that they all know how much everyone else on the team is making. In his mind, he may think a lot of money being paid to TJD and others will be available. Beyond the minimum though, the NIL will be about market value and I agree he hasn't done much to help in that regard. -

I have to ask, what is his noticeable skillet? He's a serviceable shooter, what else is he above average at? He can't break anyone down off the dribble, he isn't crafty with his body control, he's not a great passer. He has a decent first step, but his best move is to put his head down, take one or two hard dribbles and then elevate for an often awkward shot that he usually misses. -

Do we know he's after more NIL money? Honestly, if I'm him I'm hoping just to stay on the team and get whatever the non-star players at IU all get. It's very likely more than he would make anywhere else. -

It's all about the portal at this point (and whether X is back). It's definitely doable, I'm guessing our NIL situation will look pretty good. However of the non seniors, there are only three that I'd be truly disappointed about if they didn't come back. The rest I think I would just shrug my shoulders. Genuinely asking, does anyone have hope for Bates? Is there a precedent for a huge sophomore to junior leap?
