  1. And finished with 37 apparently. Wish his 3 PT % was a bit higher (34.1% last year) but looks like someone we should go after.
  2. Curious as to why you say that. (genuinely) It looks like he didn't make 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team all Big East last year.
  3. Here's the thing though, I think you're creating a narrative that makes sense to you but at least one of your assumptions, in my opinion, is just not correct. You're saying that many people don't like like Dane Fife because he's opinionated, who and where are these people (before everything came out)? Granted I'm not as connected as many people so didn't know what was happening during the year, but I loved the hiring of Dane Fife as he is an IU legend and had a long successful tenure with MSU. And until all this stuff came out had no reason to believe he was anything other than an excellent assistant coach. That is where almost all of my friends were at and where I believe the majority of IU fans were at as well. I have a post early in the Dane Fife firing thread that is anti-Woodson thinking he just couldn't handle contrary opinions, which made sense to me because I feel a lot of Woodson's coaching decisions were questionable this year and I could see Dane butting heads with him. I also was a member of peegs for years and don't really like Rabjohns very much, for a number of reasons. One of them was that he generally kept things very vague and close to the vest to protect his sources. Related to that though, he's not a guy that just throws stuff at the wall to see what sticks. So I believe what he says and honestly it makes a lot more sense than Woodson firing an IU legend after one year because they had contrary opinions. I'm not saying it's not possible but to me it's much less likely to be the main reason he was fired. Occam's Razor and what not.
  4. His name is Trayce with a y. Not a big deal but misspelling our players names is a pet peeve of mine.
  5. To me Bates is almost certainly coming back. With the attrition, I think it should be clear to him that the starting spot is his to lose at this point. (yes, I understand he has to earn it)
  6. See other posts though, the NCAA hands out transfers often and in ways that don't seem to make sense. At least the system is fair now.
  7. Haha as in you read what Chris posted yesterday?
  8. Agreed, every offseason I was so hopeful he would finally put it all together. Unfortunately, it never quite happened but some great memories, and I will always think fondly of him.
  9. Does anyone expect Parker to transfer? I'm thinking he just quits basketball and moves on with his life.
  10. I feel like his name was thrown around a lot the last time around before we hired ya.
  11. OK, so we're going with the "unless you have actual quotes, a tape recording, and a written confession from Dane Fife then I refuse to believe anything that was said!" defense. Got it. Reminds of of a certain Chappelle's show skit.
  12. First of all you clearly have no idea how the world works. Fife is not the source, it's other people in the program. And if you give up sources that don't want to be given up, you're not going to be a reporter for very long. Second, if you want to say we can't be 100% sure that what Rabjohns is saying is true then I agree, we can't. But what's your theory then? Why was Dane fired? The "you can't believe everything you read on the internet" argument is certainly foolproof but also lazy and ultimately meaningless.
  13. I mean the irony of this post is so rich. People are complaining about character assassination but what he should be doing is printing a real story with quotes?!? Then it's really out there and will likely affect Dane's ability to get a new job.
  14. An IU legend was unceremoniously fired after only year, and we can either take the word of an actual reporter with connections to the program or what? Come up with our own theories? Which is more likely to be true? If I'm being honest, it seems like you're just stirring the pot.
  15. I'm sorry but this post is absolute nonsense. It's not hard to tell when people are being overtly political, like talking about political candidates, or political parties, or hot-button political issues. Your argument is akin to saying you can't single someone out for sexual harassment because there are sexual undertones to everything we do.
  16. It's crazy how people are allowed to change their mind when new information comes in. Actually that's what rational, intelligent people do. People aren't just deciding that he was insubordinate, he was insubordinate. I'm honestly not sure how anyone could read about the stuff he was saying and not immediately say damn, he should have been fired during the season.
  17. What does that even mean? There are places that I literally don't ever talk politics, including work and this board. And if someone is reporting things that are actually true, which is his job that he gets paid for, then there is nothing unfair here.
  18. And there it is! The real reason you're upset.
  19. Is anything really necessary in the end? It's better for the program that this comes out so half the fanbase doesn't think he got fired for expressing his coaching opinions.
  20. Slander is by its very definition false and malicious. If he really was pushing politics then it's simply speaking the truth about events that occurred and not slander. Someone fairly reputable is reporting this.
  21. It's not slander if it's true.
  22. Well at first I was pretty upset by this, but you're a moron if you can't change your opinion when new information comes in. Sounds like he deserved to be fired.
  23. That tweet looks like it was taken down, can anyone provide any sort of clue as to what people are alluding to here?
  24. He is 68 years old, we sure as hell better not bring him on as an AC. We need guys that can recruit, end of story. Especially if Woody isn't going to listen to anything they have to say anyway.
  25. Yeah if the real reasoning behind this is that Woody's messaging has been the assistants bring in the talent and then keep their mouth shut then that's not good. I'm not saying that is the case, but if it is then Woody is not going to succeed here. I guess I'm a little extra wary here because I felt like some of Woody's decisions throughout the year were bordering on idiotic.
