American HoosierX replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
When it comes to winning time, this team is literally incapable of making plays. Up four with a minute left - next 4 possessions - Race TO, two prayers from Bates and a prayer from XJ to end the game. -
I’m sorry but I completely disagree with your first point and could very easily make the same point using your exact logic. What do you gain by pressing down 15 with 25 seconds left? You’re not going to win and you’re not going to learn much pressing players at the end of the opposing team’s bench. If you’re going to do it, don’t get pissed when the other team calls a timeout
-
Agreed and Howard doesn't have any right to be pissy about the timeout when you/re pressing their subs with 25 seconds left down 15.

And he’s shooting about 14% from the field. Al Durham is not the missing piece on an offensively challenged team that lacks consistent shooting. Jesus we’re romanticizing Al Durham now. He’s having a decent season, but if I had a dime for every time I thought we would never be an elite team with players like Al Durham starting, I’d have about 23 dollars.

Our roster can be not very good, and at the same time the short rotation could have affected our play tonight - doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. I was at the game only a few rows from the court. I saw our guys during time outs, in between plays, etc. I promise you they were gassed starting at about 10 minutes left. TJD was very noticeably struggling at the end of the game. Cite all the other teams you want, the short rotation absolutely affected our play tonight. As for Duncomb, I'm honestly just as baffled as you are how he couldn't get into the game tonight.

American HoosierX replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I came and asked the question, I believe before Chris started posting on the topic, because my buddy heard from a former player that it did indeed have to do with Hiller. Seems to be some smoke around this one. -

But that decision directly affected his ability to do his own job (as running backs coach), so I’m not sure I agree. -

Anyone else hearing that retaining Hiller may have played a part in this? -

American HoosierX replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I was living in Houston at the time and we had a pretty solid game watch group at a place called Luke’s Ice House. Watching those Michigan games Vic’s last year was some of the most fun I’ve had watching IU sports. Zeller carried us on his back that last game against UM. -

If it was Yogi’s senior season then Vic wasn’t on the team. -

I'm assuming there's a "don't" missing there
