Doing the same thing and expecting different results. That’s insanity. I never thought I would see the day when Assembly Hall was a gimme game for the opposition. I like Archie, but he doesn’t seem to be doing much to help this team win. We just need to keep doing the same things harder isn’t cutting it. I'll preface this by saying that I am not one of the people who thinks we need to fire Archie. I also get that I don't get to see practices, etc. Having said that, this has been my concern - the lack of trying something different. Look how long it took for him to decide they needed help on their free throw shooting. The start of games has been an issue all season, but the only time we've seen lineup changes is due to injuries. As poorly as they've played in many games recently, there is little attempt to go to the bench and try someone different. I totally get that he wants to play the guys who work hard in practice. Reward guys for their effort. But if they are sleepwalking through the games - what kind of message is that sending? You don't get any points for practice. What incentive is there to bust your butt if you know you're playing 35 minutes no matter what? Continuing to do the same things harder gets you more of the same. He has been very good at being upfront about the problems with this team, but not so good at coming up with solutions.

I was talking to someone earlier yesterday and he was talking about Miller being fired. I said, "He isn't going to get fired after 2 seasons, that would be ridiculous." He responded, "What if they lose out?" That thought had never crossed my mind. After last night, that is a real possibility.

I think it's mainly conjecture. He is having a great year. I seriously doubt he is looking to transfer somewhere.

I firmly believe the program was on a definite downward trend and was probably worse off than many believe in Crean's last year. The three recruits were all projects. I would argue that Al is farther along than most expected as a soph. This could be debated forever, but last year's team would have been in the bottom 5 of the B1G with Crean coaching. Having said that, CAM is stubbornly not attempting to play to the current team's strengths. As frustrating as that is, I get it. He is trying to change the culture and I'm sure he is unwilling to bend on many things. My guess is that he feels that the more he gives in on this year, the more it drags out the transition.

Yeah, and then be injured for half the year. I guess I’m not sold on Marshall yet either. Why do we have so many injuries? At some point, you have to look at something other than bad luck. I respectfully disagree. Every place Cal has been, some type of rules violation has followed. To me, paying a kid $100k is not doing 60 in a 55. You are gaining a clear advantage over anyone who is following the rules. It's more like driving 100 mph, never stopping for stop lights, and running people off the road because they are in your way. If you are really concerned about the student athlete, work to change the rules instead of using it as an excuse to gain an advantage.

If that is true, that has to absolutely kill team chemistry. If I was the coach, I wouldn't allow that. If I was Edwards, I wouldn't allow that.
