  1. I'm not disputing what you are saying because I'm not sure when he hit his growth spurt, but I'm pretty sure it was last July or August that I talked to his dad (job contact) and they were taking a trip to Syracuse because they were interested in him back then. He named a few other schools that they were talking to and I believe Michigan State was one of them. Just saying I think there's been some pretty legit interest for a while.
  2. I like Davis and was hopeful things would work out for him at IU. I think he was just in over his head and the pressure eventually got to him. I don't think he had the management skills to build a program, nor did he seem to hold his players accountable. Once Knight's players were gone, the fundamentals and improvement really went downhill. I can't say that I've followed him closely enough to know what kind of system he is currently running, but he was always trying to run pro sets when he was at IU. I hope he has success in Detroit, but I kinda thought he had the perfect job where he was.
  3. For a point guard??? Don't they have some 6-8 guys who can play the point?
  4. Wouldn't surprise me to see someone in this class redshirt too. I think he may be a candidate if they don't see him getting many minutes.
  5. He's just not that in to us....
  6. Yes there is, but I don't know any details. I can't even log on through tapatalk anymore. Most are just using a browser now.
  7. I'm just glad to see that Rick's mental health has improved so much. What with all the memory and cognitive issues he's had over the past few years, he really seems to be sharp as a tack now!
  8. No one is talking about the real elephant in the room... were bumper stickers involved? That's the kind of thing that can't be tolerated.
  9. I took that to mean he might get some offers that are too attractive to turn down.
  10. Besides the potential ceiling of this group, you have experienced guys line Green, McRoberts, and Fitzner coming off the bench.
  11. It's hard for me to imagine Jordan flopping. I mean, I was one of the people who said his name was Air Jordan because if you disrupted the air around him, they called a foul. But, that guy was so intense and single minded, I just think that would have been something that would take away from his focus and he just wouldn't have it. Being a Pacers fan, I was no fan of Jordan when he played, but I respected the hell out of him. I've never seen a player with his intense focus every game. It is just hard for me to see him participating in the WWF moves that LeBron and others use today.
  12. These kids get so much attention for being an uncommitted recruit, you really can't blame them. Then if he has been hanging out and talking to Brooks, who it seems clearly likes the process, maybe he helped him change his mind about pulling the trigger so soon.
  13. I think this thread has officially jumped the shark!
  14. As with most of these pieces, it is written by someone armed with about half of the facts and very little background on the subject. Anyone who has actually followed this for the last year has nothing to learn from an article like this, except for how little you have to know about something to write about it.
  15. Oladipo had a great year and it definitely looks like he's not happy with just being in the conversation. He wants to be better next year. I'm not a LeBron fan either. The guy is really good, not doubt about it. He gets a lot of calls, but like others have said, most of the superstars have and do. What bothers me the most about him is that most nights he is one of the biggest guys on the court, if not the biggest, but somehow he manages to get pushed around by everyone. His flops, are so overly dramatized that they look like something straight out of the professional wrestling circuit. He's good enough and gets enough calls that he doesn't need to do that. For a guy his size and age to play the minutes he does is pretty amazing though - I'll give him that. Just cut out all the WWF moves...
  16. It really is unimportant. I mean the Colts paid their star QB 25 million to ride the pine last year because of the continual pummeling the OL allowed him to take. That doesn't make them important at all.
  17. Yeah, Morgan just didn't develop into the PG a certain tanned coach thought he would...
  18. I heard he can run, but not with a football.
  19. I doubt that. No one from UNC will want to transfer to a school where they have to take actual college courses.
  20. I think they would all look to stay in-house, but I think Mike White would get a pretty good look at Duke. I'm not sure any of those jobs would be considered extremely attractive because of what history has shown about following legends.
  21. Along these lines, I thought it was very telling that his response to not being able to sustain success after Oladipo and Zeller left was that he should have put out a press release saying we were in a second rebuild. It wasn't, I should have had more guys prepared to take on larger roles, or should have had a better handle on the situation, it was I should have used the press to make me seem better than I was. I still think this is why he goes out of his way to make friends with the press. They all fall all over themselves talking about how great of a guy he is, and put the blinders up to what is really happening on the court. I don't have any ill will towards the guy except that I thought he handled many things poorly. I really hope he has learned from his mistakes an can put together something successful at Georgia. I'll believe it when I see it though. Sustained.
  22. He didn't go into a lot of detail, but did say he was just relaying what several employees had told him. He was hired to give a leadership talk to the athletic dept. and also said Glass never bothered to show up. I'm just going off of memory, but I think it was about 15-20 minutes into the podcast. He also said he had a whole chapter in his book dedicated to Yogi - Fight Like Ferrell.
  23. Did anyone happen to catch the last "Earn Your Stripes" podcast with Dave Anderson? He talked a little about Glass and the athletic department. Now he is a good friend of Crean's, so his views may be a little skewed, but he didn't have anything good to say about Glass. He basically said people that worked under him described him as lazy, two-faced, and said he didn't have their backs. I believe he described it as toxic a few times. I guess I've never really understood a lot of the criticism of Glass, but it sounds like there's something there. It was actually a pretty good episode. He talked a lot about the team that won the B1G and how they turned it around.
  24. I think Crean will do well at Georgia. His inconsistency is what did him in at IU, but I think they will tolerate the drop-off seasons if they are pretty good every 2-3 years there. Maybe he has learned a little during his time off too. Based on his 27 minute opening statement, I'm not convinced of that, but I do think that is the right type of job for him.
  25. I kept reading that, waiting for the punch line.
