  1. Sounds like I've only got a few good years left.
  2. I like that Dolson isn't afraid to get in there and get his hands dirty!
  3. Yeah, I know - just my Monday morning failed attempt to be humorous.
  4. You mean with the exception of us, right?
  5. That's probably better than dividing it by the number of players he has to manage.
  6. Somehow all the teams between his number one and fourteen managed to make the tournament.
  7. How could an 18 year old possibly want to play for this guy over Archie???
  8. If I'm Dolson, I'm asking one question: How is next year going to be any different than your first 4 years. If he says anything like, "We just have to keep doing what we are doing better," he gone...
  9. Personally, I'd really like to get Beard. I realize he may want nothing to do with it, but at least reach out to him. I just don't think Fife is ready for the IU job. I liked the idea of bringing in someone like Beilein and Fife as an assistant to take over in a few years. That seems unlikely, but it would be a decent plan. Not a fan of Drew. I think we would just be asking to potentially set the program back to a place from which it may never recover. I do think Musselman could work. I'm afraid we may end up taking whoever is willing and hoping we struck gold. Sad days...
  10. Wow... that says it all. One losing conference record in 6 years... Tournament 4 out of 6 years... Back then, this wasn't considered success. Arch would get an extension for this.
  11. Totally agree. I don't get the 5th year argument. Miller has been very consistent in his 4 years here. Why does anyone think year 5 is going to be any different? We know who he is. He may be a much better coach than he is showing here (I tend to think he is), but how does that help us? Yes, we would have squeaked into the tournament last year, but how did he build on that? We are always in the "last four in, first four out" conversation. Is that what we want? I certainly hope not.
  12. Yep, it’s not must see for me anymore. Life is too short to drink cheap beer and watch bad basketball, especially at the same time!
  13. Probably hoping we'll finally get a good coach next year.
  14. I get that Michigan is good. The question is why are we so bad. Quite honestly, Miller said all the right things when he came in, but hasn’t lived up to anything. I mean nothing. There is nothing to look forward to if they retain him for another year. It will just be more of the same, he has said it himself. He is failing in nearly every aspect of the game and the program.
  15. How many times do we have to hear Archie say that there’s nothing wrong with what they are doing, they just have to do it better. Slow starts have been a mainstay in his time, and lineups have rarely been adjusted. Shooting issues, free throws, lack of flow on offense. These have been issues every season, but his response has been to keep doing what they are doing. As has been mentioned many times, all the good coaches play to their players’ strengths. This is just sad...
  16. We need you sober...
  17. Sadly, this is where I am. I used to never miss a game and drove to see a few every year. For me, it started toward the end of Crean’s tenure, but I came back to see how Archie would turn it around. I was encouraged by his first season, thinking he did quite a lot with the talent he had. Unfortunately, for me anyway, my apathy has grown every season since. It’s hard for me to get excited because I know for every Iowa win, there’s going to be an ugly Purdue, Michigan State (this year), or Indiana State loss. This is the definition of mediocrity. Crean’s teams reflected his wild personality swings, but at least you got a high every few years. Archie just keeps an even keel, never getting too high or too low for very long (12 game losing streaks aside).
  18. His stats are almost exactly what they were here. I mean, good for him if he's happy, but he was supposed to be going to this free flowing offense that was going to let him break out. Admittedly, I haven't seem him play at all, but his stats don't represent anything different.
  19. I remember when many, including myself, thought that we got the better coach of the 3 that came in to the Big Ten four years ago. Definitely hasn’t aged well...
  20. My CEO always says he want's 20% growth, year after year, but never has a plan on how to do it. I always think, "yeah, who doesn't?" Wonder if this is the same. To say, I want us to score in transition, I want to shoot 75% from the free throw line, I want to shoot 40% from 3 - everyone wants that. The guy in charge has to come up with a good, executable plan on how to achieve those things. If he has, I haven't seen the players get it yet.
  21. I remember at the time that it was one of his assistants that threatened to have him deported if he didn't go to Baylor. It was one of those "common knowledge" things, but I'm sure it couldn't be proven. Instead, he had to sit out 8 games for bumper stickers. I guess he never recovered from that...
  22. I figured this as well. In fact I told several people that we need to get used to mediocrity until his contract is up. The only thing that makes me wonder is that next year he would only have a year left on his contract. That makes recruiting even harder than it seems it has been for him lately. Who wants to play for a coach on the hot seat with a year left on his contract?
  23. For sure - this needs to be the norm, not the exception. This means very little if they go out and lay an egg against Rutger, but it is definitely something to build on. Let's hope that is the case.
