I assumed the same and assumed he was probably gone when Archie made Moore a priority to get and even promising not to redshirt. That and his comments like you said make me believe he is likely definitely gone. I expect him to get a combine invite so hopefully he can help his stock and sneak in the latter part of the 1st. Colts/Bears/NFL Game Thread
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to Dalton26's topic in National Football League
Alvin Kamara in the 2nd round is what I would do. Posted in the draft thread that he seems to be just on the same level as all the top guys but honestly I think he will be better than all of them unless Fournette stays completely healthy. He will be a steal for whoever grabs him. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
I have a buddy who is in a class with TB and has been saying he hasn't shown up lately at all for the last month. Said he was actually better at showing up the morning after a night home game then now. TB seems like a smart kid though so I have no idea why he is so dead set on going all in. I thought he was likely to leave but figured he would have a fall back option. Have also heard there are rumblings around campus that CuJo isn't staying, but I highly doubt that unless an announcement happens very soon. Teams are filling their rosters and though he would definitely be able to find a team it just doesn't seem smart. As much as I hate to say it but I think James is gone. Truly, I expected a huge year next year for him, but I think he is a kid willing to take a shot on himself and he has a good spot at a final roster spot somewhere if he can do well in the aspects of the draft and Summer League. I wish both TB and JBJ well if they do whether it is smart decisions or not, but if TB is truly skipping classes I don't like the idea of one of our "leaders" being athletes and not student athletes. Who's declaring/transferring around NCAA 2017?
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to reconmkd's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Huge pickup. Him as well as the Lawson brothers are gonna be awesome. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Also to note Mahomes and Kizer both have the biggest bust factor as well. I see Trubisky as a Alex Smith type guy with a stronger arm, so I don't think there is a big bust factor with him, but he isn't near a Luck, Winston, Newton, Mariota type QB we have seen go early. Way too much all together, but the Browns will end up taking Myles Garrett. Trubisky could still be there at 12 for them or they could try moving up if they want him and feel threatened. Nate Peterman of Pitt is a guy that will be a good qb in the league and has flown under the radar as well as Brad Kaaya from the U. Dobbs is gaining a lot of traction like I saw you state in your post. Patrick Mahomes & Kizer are the two biggest ceiling guys along with Trubisky. Deshaun Watson will be a good qb, but idk about great. I am a Raiders fan and hoping for Kevin King from UW. He is a smooth corner and think he will help us immediately. I also like the Colts just not close to as much as the Raiders, but am praying Reuben Foster falls to 15 now with this diluted sample talk. This draft is amazing when it comes to defensive side of the ball, but offensively there aren't the talents at qb like previous years. RB is a huge strength and even Alvin Kamara looks like a superstar, but isn't expected to go before the "big 3". WR has a few guys in Corey Davis & Mike Williams as well as a few others. TE is a little better than previous years. O Line talent is no where near a normal level of talent the last drafts have had. I love the NFL draft and start scouting players in January and try to get a feel for a number of prospects. Football is way more of a mental game than people think because of the physical nature. (2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Tre Jones will be a Blue Devil so no need to fret. Tre is already being mentioned as much improved and will make Duke not worry about the rankings as much. Big bro is gonna make sure he goes to Duke. Only other school I could see Tre going is Minny. I have said this for awhile, but I expect a 3 way battle for Garland of us, KU and Vandy. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Rankings are actually right 75% of the time. The 25% that is left is the 75-150 range of kids which honestly could be decided by some services having a better relationship or seeing the player more. Yogi was only a 4 year player due to his size. Add 4 inches to him and he was a lotto pick. He was a rare 5 star that wasn't on many NBA radars right away due to his size only though. Phinisee is a completely different case and I get what some mean by having a Yogi effect on the program. I feel like the best comparison for me of Phinisee is Charlie Moore. Moore was a little shorter but they remind me exactly of the other. Phinisee is a must get, but if we have a shot at Garland he needs to be top priority. With Phinisee being a in state kid it makes Archie's job in this scenario very easy. He can see Rob without taking up a lot of time and yet still make Garland feel like a priority as well. Garland reminds me of Nigel Williams Goss so much. Looks like Romeo is our top priority right now though and Archie has made that clear and I love it. Wrap up Rob and Jallow and finish off with whatever makes sense. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I believe Phinisee is ours to lose. I don't think Archie loses him by showing up all weekend and then not seeing him for awhile like "someone" else's approach to in state kids. Hasn't spent a second watching Garland tho. PLENTY of time tho. Really hoping the 3 pgs continue to be high priority so it can lead to Hunter or Rob early with Garland probably waiting until spring. Random IUBB Recruiting
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
So not sure where to put this, but Tremont Waters is probably gonna end up at WKU. Still wish he was gonna be a Hoosier, WKU is building a amazing class. 3 top 60 players. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Jonathon Giovanny tweeted a story about some kids today and Moore was one. Basically to sum it up he said he could be an NBA player if he learns how to be more aggressive. All Moore's knocks were things that could easily change and should. I believe that he won't be here for 4 years and think his sophomore year he is gonna be one of our top players. Him and DD along with Smith, Phinisee and Romeo would compete for a title. Romeo is still a long shot but that would be awesome team. Juwan probably still starts but Moore will be our 6th man. Point being the future is BRIGHT at IU under Archie. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I wish this kid was an 18' recruit, but no matter when IF he comes here I will be very happy. I think he has a shot to be a top 5 player in the country. Also it would help us this year with Tyger Campbell. The two are pretty close. We haven't shown much interest in him, but I love that kids game and could be a great fall back option if we miss on Garland and Phinisee. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Also get Ben Carter back since he never played. Bridges, Schilling, Ward, Tillman, Goins & Carter are gonna be hard to deal with in the post. 2 starting caliber pg's as well. Throw in Langford and McQuiad and you got a great team with depth to handle injuries. If they get Bowen or Mark Smith then wow!! Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I think Moore is a lot more ready to contribute than most think. Bossi mentioned he wouldn't be surprised by a jump in the top 80 for the final rankings. TB is probably gonna leave IMO, so we will need Moore. Even if TB comes back and a injury happens we will be thin on depth. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Sounds like Moore is ours if we want him which no offense to Durham but Moore is easily the 2nd best recruit in the class and if we took Durham, Moore should be safe as well. RSing Durham actually sounds like a great idea this year but it just depends on how the roster shapes up. Once again there is a reason Moore has had a bunch of big schools reach out. He has a load of potential and a high floor. If he adds 10 more pounds he could really contribute next year. Hopefully he is a Hoosier. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Bruiser seems like the guy. I know most think Schilling offers the best option and probably true, but he took Bruiser with him to the meeting with our recruits and he was named first in the official report. Seems like it is him, but who knows. Should find out soon. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

The 5 stars will come. No doubt about it. IU will be back in the thick of the conversation by this time next year. I expect us to be behind Duke and UK still but even if they got the top 10 kids combine between them and say 8 more from different locations picking home schools, that is plenty of talent to pick from. Say we got Robert Phinisee and Eric Hunter. Then some other good kids. Our rotation would be.... PG: DG/Phinisee/Hunter SG: CuJo/Hunter/Durham SF: Smith PF: Morgan C: Davis That is a lot of talent to work with. Add some solid depth pieces and a grad guy or two and we can very well compete for a top 3 or 4 B1G spot and tourney appearance. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app
