Tom Crean Press Tour 2017
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It is hilarious National Media acted like we as fans we shouldn't have expected such high expectations. Fast forward to now and our new coach and old coach has been on pretty much every podcast or tv show out there, so you tell me if the IU program was still elite. I think that answers the question for us. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Pitino actually teaches defense. And does not have the turnovers we do. Minnesota will have one pg who is All B1G worthy and another pg who is veeery good. Add reigning DPOY in Lynch and that usually equals at the very least mild success. Amir is probably going to be taking a big step as well. They have all 3 levels. A point, a wing and a big. It was yesterday. He was asked why he didn't get more in state talent to keep his job. I agree with most saying Izzo wouldn't resort to that, but track record of those kids that Crean is talking about ended up at MSU so I would not be surprised if Izzo doesn't call ol Tommy boy. I know U of L has gotten a kid or two and so has UK. The funniest part is some end up at Butler or Xavier or Purdue. ND as well. They aren't high ranked but example Baldwin from Butler looks like a star!! No way anyone was paying him. I think Crean is ONLY hurting his future and nothing else. He isn't getting his job back here, so why keep doing these interviews? The more he does the more bitter he sounds. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Makai Ashton Langford just requested a release from UCONN. That kid is a immediate impact type point guard. I would absolutely love to take him!! Gonna be a long list for him though. Lots of talent in the open market. Wish we could find out what TB is gonna do and if anyone is transferring to decide soon so we can get some of these kids. Makai or Tremont would do wonders here. A lot of roster movement is gonna happen between now and the start of next year. I know he said way to early list but wow. IMHO as of right now. 1. MSU 2. Minnesota 3. Northwestern 4. IU 5. Purdue 6. Wisconsin That is the only thing I am comfortable with predicting at the moment. Wisconsin still has Happ and 6th is the furthest I can say Wisky falls back. Michigan and Iowa can both sneak in that area. PSU will be much improved and could as well. I think this league will be very balanced next year. Nebraska adds two solid transfers. Who knows what is going to happen. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

On the Seth Davis podcast, Crean said we lost some kids in Indiana, because money changed hands. Izzo and MSU are the ones that have been taking a lot of our in state guys. I hate to think Izzo has turned dirty, but it seems to make sense. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

It comes down to this and it is very simple. If FCTC really thought IU was such a bad place, why in the world would he still insist on Riley becoming a Hoosier still? Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Archie Miller Press Tour 2017
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Bob Knight just said some awesome stuff about Archie. Said "folks get behind him, I think your gonna enjoy some good basketball." That is like anyone else saying he was the best coach possible for the job. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
Going into the season Vic and Cody left, Cody was actually mocked as the #1 pick on some sites. Victor was a 2nd rounder, but was on many breakout list. Watford and Hulls were gone regardless. His excuses are weak. What do programs like Duke, UK, Zona, MSU, U of L and plenty other schools do each year when they lose a couple of guys? It is hilarious that he continues to even use it. How haven't people caught on besides us of this one trick pony!!?? Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

Musa Jallow & Robert Phinisee are the realistic options to start the 18 class. Romeo if he waits till spring may come here. IMHO the more success we have with Archie the better. If we are a decent team, does he really wanna come here and be a savior? He is just looking for a place to rest his head for a year. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

I saw it, but if Archie has to Crean someone it will be one of the two. Not saying it happens, but now that Dayton has their coach we should find out if Kostas really wants to come here or Wright for that matter. Archie told both there was a spot for them if they wanted according to some Dayton people. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app

We will be top 25 no doubt. A Sweet Sixteen isn't crazy talk, but would take a lot of pieces to fit together. Most of these kids are upperclassmen so it is gonna be hard to just play a different way and pick it up instantly. I expect Devonte to make huge strides though. Count me in for a big 2018 class by CAM as well. It will show us what kind of talent he is gonna be able to get off the bat. The years after will be based off success more so than next year's class. 2 wings, a point guard and 2 bigs and he can choose the others as he pleases. Tom Crean Press Tour 2017
Yogi's Picnic Basket replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Honestly, he is always upbeat or he is crying about something. Makes for a good interview guy to get views. Once the IU name wears off on his name, it will be different. ESPN is his best chance at restoring his reputation unless an NBA team takes him on as an assistant. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app -
